I saw a $20 Sun quad gigabit ethernet adapter for sale on ebay...Does anyone know anything about these cards? Quad ethernet UTP card as its listed... Are these things compatible with server 2012? I seem to remember these being listed as the "multithreaded" quad port network adapter...

$20 sounds about right for a PCI-X (not PCIe) quad gig NIC, you may want to double check the interface.

looks to be PCI-E x8, not the PCI-X variant. I'm just curious if anyone has confirmed that these work in server 2008, 2012 etc. and their experiences.

I went ahead and bit on it... for $20 I figured it was worth a shot... hopefully Windows 2012 supports it out of the box.
