Suggestion for motherboard

Why would you consider previous-generation motherboards (Asrock, MSI), let alone an Asus motherboard from several socket generations ago?
 
If you looking for minimal, the MSI is the most basic of those three. But what do you need this motherboard or system to do?
 
Those are two generations old. Were you thinking about going Sandy Bridge?
 
Actually im getting these motherboards really cheap the rampage gen is already lying around(planning to remove or keep? ).
So was thinking why not to built a system. Im looking for casual gaming and video/audio processing.
 
If you can get those boards relatively cheap, I would go with the Asrock z68 extreme7 since it got a bunch of extras and with an IB CPU, you will only be a generation back. The system should also be pretty badass with the right components.
 
how about 1600mhz dominators with it ? and im not going into overclocking for the while so normal cpu would do just fine.
