It's not so much that this guy was caught by the use of technology as it was the total lack of common sense. Why in the world would you swipe your ATM card during a bank robbery?

Neal entered the Wells Fargo branch on First Avenue on May 13 and approached a teller window, according to his plea agreement. He first swiped his card through the card reader at the window. When the teller asked how he could be helped, Neal replied: “You’re being robbed. Don’t make a mistake.” He then handed the teller a note that had a similar statement.

Poor thing. If you aren't a criminal by age 56, it is pointless to jump ship for greener pastures. You weren't cut out for it. And your cellmate Bubba has a large pen... Yes, a large pen.

If it had been a movie, he would have swiped a card for someone that didn't have a solid alibi. Then, said person would have broken out of jail and spent the next 2 hours on a wild run against the clock to prove his innocence.

Sadly, life is not a movie.

As part of his sentence, he was ordered to pay $565 in restitution to the bank.

So he just had to pay them back what he stole, plus a little jail time I assume? That's not that bad. Though the dude is a registered offender. He should of been locked up to begin with.
