Strong signal but trouble in BF2

I have 4 or 5 out of 5 bars on my comp hooked up wirelessly. When my gf plays the BF2 demo she's complaining about yellow text saying connection problems when she's firing or fighting someone. Help me get her to stop whining.

what about signal qualty (different than strength)? or the latency/ping to the server itself?

Which one is were the connection says "Excellent" and "Very Good"? That's what it always reads at. I'm at work now so I'm not sure about the latency/ping to the server. She's noticed it on several servers and hasn't had this issue with the wired comp downstairs yet.
