Stellar Blade formally Project Eve

You obviously didn’t read the article either. We get it… people like attractive characters. You’ve said this a hundred times now.

The author isn’t commenting on that. He’s clearly amused at the sheer number of male gamers who feel the need to remove all the clothes of their Barbie doll protagonist.

I mean, he’s right. It’s fucking weird.

If you’re playing a game and all you can think is, god damn, this would be so much more enjoyable to play if only I could take off all the clothes of this hyper sexualized character, then you’re either an adolescent, or some deprived incel who needs to get out of the house and try to… I don’t know, grow up?
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

So weird right, but lauding beastiality is completely normal to all the woke clowns. Also weird that all the woke clowns take issue with a developer that refused to bend the knee to the woke mob, but have no issue with other games which have thousands of NSFW mods, e.g. Skyrim. Its almost like they are hypocritical shit bags who are completely okay with degenerate filth as long its the type they approve of.

Another game thread ruined…

I forgot how good this game was. Also that crimson outfit wasn’t in the PS version. Running around and kicking ass in it is dope af. Just passed hall of records. I think I am going to keep playing.

Meanwhile people on here won’t buy the game and keep on crying. Too much free time I guess.

You are about where I am at. I'm enjoying it so far.

That’s not why the game is selling though. It’s selling because it’s a good game. Gamers buy good games, period.

I mean, let's be real. If this had some generic dude in place of Eve, it wouldn't get nearly as much attention. It's selling because it's a good game AND it has sex appeal.
both correct, hot chicks are a bonus selling point to good gaming.

upped the peak a bit tonight. sunday nights have been the true peaks on a lot of other games lately, so might go up some more.

Gamers buy games that appeal to them and they have to be good if people are going to give them high ratings and spread hype by word of mouth. According to you, Star Wars Outlaws was a great game and yet nobody wanted to buy it. Same with Dragon Age. I agree that stellar Blade is a well crafted game but I was simply commentating on the state of game development where they are always chasing the next fortnight and always stuffing ugly characters into their games and bringing in a talentless diversity hire to troll the audience with activism that doesn't appeal to anyone.

This is a problem because these activists are not real gamers and they actually hate gamers. Now that enough of us stopped buying slop, these developers are returning to fast food where they belong and good games are starting to surface again. Indie studios are getting a lot more attention because people would rather play outdated super nintendo looking games made by a single person than dragon age. Game journalists are going the way of the dinosaur because gamers would rather watch some random guy streaming on youtube in order to avoid the agenda. I've seen multiple outlets shrink or disappear entirely. These guys crying about irrelevant mods because they can't complain about the game is hilarious and very entertaining.

As I said before, Stellar Blade isn't for me because it doesn't appeal to my interests but I'm glad to see it doing well. 3rd person action titles appeal to a large audience and so does good looking characters. They nailed the gameplay loop and all is smooth sailing from there. I think the shortage of good games from the west has directly impacted stellar blade in a positive way. Same thing with schedule 1.

I think that's the point people miss a lot of times. The game has to be good or no one will play it. Yes, an attractive character can bring a lot of attention to the game but it takes more than that to make it succeed. While commercially successful, I hated NieR:Automata. Sure, it's nice looking at 2B's ass while playing the game but the story didn't grab me and the gameplay seemed repetitive and boring to me. I just didn't enjoy the game at all. A hot protagonist just isn't enough for me on its own. In contrast, I like Stellar Blade a lot. The fact that Eve is easy on the eyes is a nice bonus. Again, I don't think the game would have received nearly this much attention if it didn't have a hot protagonist and the woke whackos complaining about only brought even more attention to it.

The First Descendant has all the gooner bait you could want. Unfortunately, it doesn't have enough actual content to sustain it. They get huge surges in player counts with content drops and minor ones when they add outfits and characters, but those drop off quickly. Sex sells, but unless we are talking about actual prostitutes, there has to be more to it than that or the product will still fail.

In order to explore the gameplay you need something to draw you into the game in the first place. I agree that good looking characters are not enough, for me at least. For example, no matter how good Baldur's Gate 3 is, people who don't like turn based combat will not play it. That doesn't mean it's not a good game. It might be the best turn based game of all time but people like what they like. Some genre's and game styles appeal to a larger audience than others but it has to appeal to an audience before anyone will even give it a shot.

Ugly characters and activism is an instant turn off for 90% of gamers. The game would have to be included in a powerful IP that already has established interest and even then, most will leave disappointed compared to the original titles from that IP that had good looking characters and no activist garbage. Stellar Blades success is obvious. It appeals to a very large portion of the gamer audience by having well designed 3rd person action combat, with good looking characters and no politics. People who finished Stellar Blade, hyped it up and the sales just keep coming in from the trend followers. Most people leave the game feeling satisfied and will buy the next one. This used to be common sense and what turned games into a multi billion dollar entertainment empire. Journalists used to act as salesmen that would add fuel to the hype train and explain why the game is special. Now they are a fringe group of activist wierdo's that people avoid at all costs.

From the PCG review

“If you are new to it, however, Stellar Blade has ass shots, jiggle physics, and barely-there outfits out of the wazoo.

Does the world or its characters ever acknowledge this fact? Bar one backstreet merchant, no. It's a bizarre juxtaposition in a game that so heavily sexualises the undeniably glamorous Eve, despite being a wholly sexless personality existing in a sexless universe. In fact, Eve has very little personality at all. The same is true of supporting cast Adam and Lily who, despite me wanting to know more about them, never really offer up much information.”

LOL.

The game is terrific, which is why it’s selling.

Anybody who feels the need to claim victory here because the player character is a sexless, plastic Barbie doll without any sort of a personality (yay, it’s such an anti-DEI statement!) is a total zero and a complete douchebag.

Relying on PCG review. Just watch some Activist vids with like 500 views instead.

Eve has a ton of personality. She cares for the world even though she is oblivious to what happened to it and actually grows to like human race through the events she experiences.
Adam is sufficiently explained if the guy waited or cared to actually read and follow the story.
Lily is lily, I agree not very fleshed out but honestly, she is good enough.
As for world being sexless - I don't know what to say. It has some missions where people are asking you to look for their loved ones etc. Nobody wants to sex up the EVE bot if that is their main concern. Like wtf.

Poor PCG journalists only outlet is to find beastiality or other types of porno references in games. Go to pornhub and blow your load or finger yourselves to death whatever. Get that trash out of gamer space.

anybody who keeps white knighting for shitty woke companies is a dbag....

there, now we can both get warnings....

Nobody is claiming victory here. I don't even look at this conversation in that way. My point is that the game can have fantastic gameplay and nobody will play it if they are turned off by things that they are not interested in. Making a game fun to play is important to people who are interested and give it a shot. If game developers ignore the fact that 90% of players will not be interested or even try their game if the game actively goes against their interests then they will continue to circle the drain. As I said before, I usually play games with male lead characters and I usually role play as male characters and I'm a straight male. The main character's sex appeal isn't my main focus when gaming. However, I'm willing to bet if Stellar Blade had a fat, gay lead character who talked down to the player base about proper pronoun usage, it would have sold worse than Dragon Age. Dragon Age had a powerful IP brand that already had an established fan base of insta buyers and yet it still failed to live up to previous games in the series and it got outsold by stellar blade. We both know why that is and it has nothing to do with the gameplay.

Usually, the activist virtue signaling that gamers spot in a trailer will signify to them that the game is going to have poor writing and/or gameplay because it instantly shows the player that the devs are interested in pushing political messages which has nothing to do with making a good game or appealing to the majority of gamers who play games to avoid that nonsense. If devs want to push activism then they should make original IP's with extremely low budgets to balance the lack of interest from the gaming community. Stellar Blade avoided that black hole of failure and focuesed on making the game fun with good looking characters and no politics. So there were no negatives turning people away and as a result many people tried it. The game is good and players praise it, then trend followers pick it up and now it's a massive success. If AAA devs from the west continue to live in denial then they will disappear and nobody will miss them. AA studios will gain momentum and take their place with massive gains from games like Expedition 33 and Stellar Blade.

I like that this game feels like a videogame rather than trying to be a movie. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it's not trying to be realistic. I just completed Matrix 11 and have cleared the Wasteland area, so far I'm really enjoying this game. Not sure what all the fuss is about with her appearance, journalists are just overly sensitive or probably just projecting while they ogle at her.

LOL.

they gave it a score of 68

it's basically a sex fantasy Asian fetish role playing game for the perpetually single guys/girls...even the developers have admitted as much...it was said best earlier in this thread by TwistedMetal- "this game is basically Barbie for men. You don't play to advance the story, you play to collect outfits and make Eve look cute"

notice how it's mostly the unattractive people that are drooling over this game and defending it...you don't find a lot of attractive or hot people drooling over 'Eve' because those people can get hotter partners in real life...they don't need to play video games as their only way of interacting with people of the opposite sex...almost all of the talk surrounding this game is about the Eve character, not the gameplay or story...which is why it's different to something like Nier Automata

lol never fails. your arguments suck so you turn to insults. typical.
they gave it 68 because it couldnt tick their woke check boxes but they cant deny its a good game. so they turf the score. then on shit like avowed and failguard they artificially inflate it.

Never seen someone fight so hard against a game before. There are far worse and darker games out there more deserving of sofa soldiers to stop them much more so than Stellar Blade.

wrong again...PC Gamer gave Avowed a score of 82...not a top score...according to OpenCritic review score average is an 80...so it's pretty much right in line with the average...users gave it an 80...Steam reviews are 'Mostly Positive'...so the anomaly is you not the rest of the world

PC Gamer gave Veilguard a score of 79...OpenCritic review average is an 80...again PC Gamer was right in line with the average...Steam reviews are 'Mixed'

exactly, artificially inflated. dont move the posts, this was specifically about PCG.

PC Gamer gave Avowed an 82 and Veilguard a 79...that matches up with what other reviews and players have said...so nothing is artificially inflated...they didn't give Avowed a 92 and Veilguard a 90...scores in the lower 80's and upper 70's aren't top tier games...they are mid tier decent games with some flaws...wake up

WTF?!? o_O
I have you know that I happen to be one of the hottest guys on this planet, and Eve certainly melts my butter all over the floor.
See I can make a blanket statement without any facts to back it up as well.;)

you were bragging up the 9/10s like this
the IGN review of Veilguard shows it got a 9/10

it's not about whether people find her attractive or not...that's a personal preference...the point is that you don't see most 'normal' folk drooling so hard over a video game character...deciding what thong to dress her in and finding the perfect bra to match...that's just weird

again nothing wrong with hot female/male characters in games, movies, TV etc...I love that as well...but when it becomes the main reason to play a game or watch a movie etc is when it gets weird...Stellar Blade is all about the Barbie dress up and even the developers have admitted that...they specifically crafted the game for those people...this is not Red Dead Redemption or Elden Ring where the story or combat is the focal point...it's pure visual perverted whack a mole entertainment

lol sure... sounds like their revised numbers...

here we go...moving the goalposts yet again...you literally just said...you literally...literally...literally just posted that "this was specifically about PCG"...then when I post the PC Gamer scores for Avowed and Veilguard and it didn't line up with your argument you move the goalposts altogether and decide to make it about IGN...stop it dude...you can't handle it when someone constantly refutes your arguments

You all should take all this trash in person or voice chat. Some people would pay good money for the drama. Get back to the game.

cyberpunk 94 steam 78 pcg

I am not putting a lot of stock in pcgamer review scores.

very misleading...they gave Cyberpunk 2077 that score on launch day...huge difference...the game at launch was littered with bugs so that score was actually fair..."CD Projekt Red returns with an incredible setting undermined by an onslaught of bugs"...and you're comparing it to the Steam score which is an updated score...if you want to see a more updated review look at their review of Phantom Liberty which they gave a score of 87
