Steam summer sale countdown 2017

Only 54 days? comon, you have been alive for at least 10 times that amount... :p

actually been alive for 250 times that much or something can't do the math off hand.

Don't know if I'll see Half Life 3 or even a Left for Dead 3 though I might live though a few Steam sales.

Bump probably not going to get anything since Wolcen was basically the only game I wanted.

Looks like we are 2 days away. I've got about $60 sitting in my steam wallet from dorking aorund in the steam marketplace.

I've got 2 gaming boxes and would like to find something that runs well on both. I'm into online co-op, or open world, or something suitable for a 5-yo that I can play with my son.

What are you guys looking to pick up?

Hoping the Sniper Elite series is dirty cheap not expecting much since Sniper Elite 4 came out a few months back

I've picked up just about everything in my current backlog minus a few oddball games that I haven't decided whether or not I want. (most games I want are coming out this fall) I do kind of want King of Fighters XIV. It's already on sale, but maybe it will be a little less during the summer sale.

As far as co-op goes, if you and your son haven't played Borderlands / Borderlands 2 together, I'd highly recommend it. They are dirt cheap for GOTY editions during Steam sales too. I play these with my daughters, (one of whom was around 5 or 6 when she started playing it with me). Also, (not sure if it's your kind of game or not) Monaco is extremely fun co-op. It's an overhead-view heist game with specialist characters. I play this with my kids once in a while, and it's a blast. Very light on the system requirements too. Oh, and Terraria is great, as well as Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. (you both control different functions of a space-craft, and can move between stations.)

Thx for the suggestion. My son is autistic so anything beyond the lego games (and those sometimes as well) frustrate him. He can't read yet either... Jurassic park (Legos) we played once & it scared him & I had to turn it off. I'm wondering if borderlands/2 would be too much. I'll have to look into it.

Edit: Just looked at screenshots & I think he'd be terrified....Probably need to pick up something more cartoony without "scary" looking characters.

Yeah, I think you might be right on that. I didn't realize. In that case, maybe Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, and possibly Monaco. Monaco requires a bit of forward thinking, but nothing overly complicated. For instance, you could play the hacker, and he could be the mole who can break through walls, and handle more simplistic aspects of the heist.

Also, if you haven't checked it out yet, (you mentioned Lego games) but Lego Worlds is actually pretty relaxing. It's not as plot and platform oriented as the "themed" games. It's more free-form exploration, building, and just general mucking about.

I bought Sniper Elite 3 on the last sale, Waste of money, IMO. I am going to be much more discerning this time around and only buy games already on my wishlist.

Never played these Sniper games.. is there a worth while solo campaign, or is it all about the multiplayer?

Possible Rogue One spoiler if you haven't watched the movie.

I still look forward to the big Steam sales but without daily and flash deals I really haven't bought much the past couple of years.

I don't, haven't seen a single appealing deal since they done away with flash sales and daily deals.

There will be no -90% off any good games like in that crappy utube video above. That sucks in a way. But I be happy with -75% to -80% off some but I don't count on it. I haven't bought any Steam games that where on these sales for the pass 4 of 5 years. Just never any good sales!

It might be 1-2 hours before the prices switch over and if they don't oh well....

It's amazing this doesn't happen more often with 12.5 million people or addicts on Steam.

If this is all of the deals...hugely disappointing. Like 3 or 4 games on my Wishlist are even on sale at all, out of almost 40.

EDIT: Looks like more are showing up now...hmm.

They should have more servers set up around the country I think they have like 6-7 they could do better.
I'm going to try again in 2 hours or so. I see that Vikings RPG is on sale I had that game on my wishlist it has a Ultima 7 like top down perspective.

Sorry
The Steam Store is experiencing some heavy load right now. Please try again later.

I usually just wait for someone on [H] to post the dopest deals. Navigating it myself, MEHHHH.

Yeah, I'm thinking Steam is under attack as the group that hit Skype the other day said they'd hit Steam today. Steam was fine and then boom, right when the sale started.

It's not uncommon for this to happen at the beginning of a large sale. That said, the sales don't seem to be as popular as they used to be, and I would think Valve would have figured this shit out by now, so who knows.

Pretty meh deals as expected, I still might pick some things up,

Things I'm considering,

Hollow Knight
Salt and Sanctuary
Helldivers
Transistor
Halycon 6 Base Commander

Steam sales so loved they are hurting the servers.

I briefly saw something about a sticker book. Is that taking place of cards and badges?

The prices keep going on and off sale and then go back to regular price when it's in the cart it goes back to regular price. I've been trying to purchase two games for the past hour or so.

Update: seems to be working now just had to take off the off sale game from the cart and put in back in.

Nearly all of the games on my wishlist that are on sale are cheaper on cdkeys.com.

Seems to be the same idea except instead of one per "quest", you get a random pack of three, and there are a ton more to collect.
