Steam Accused of Objectifying Women after Approving Uncensored Porn Game

you literally just contradicted yourself.

Not at all. Any time before now those accusations would blacklist people in Hollywood. That is how protected those people were. There was literally no recourse for people sexually abused in Hollywood. So why the fuck do you think they didn't say anything before now?

they wanted ol harv to further their careers by any means possible.

so instead of going to the authorities they say dollar signs and played ball.

that about got it?

I want to make a reasoned, rational and practical statement about the gulf between women who feel suppressed by a society that doesn't treat them equally and equitably and the men who feel that who feel they are misunderstood based on the amount of significance they place on their apparent objectification.

But, I got nothing. Gonna go jerk off to pictures of squirrels.

Why are you so hell bent on insinuating that the allegations by all those women are false? Probably there are some women making false allegations, but most of them? Now I refer to allegations in general, not just a case or two.

my point is that those false ones weren't accidental.

its all about shame

that's why they don't accuse when it happens then they'd need actual physical evidence.

20 years after hearsay and public opinion rules the day.

then all they need is a stupid hashtag.

Do you honestly believe people hadn't tried to turn him in? It's not like other people in Hollywood didn't know about Weinstien. No one fucking cared or wanted to do anything because of how much money and power he had. There is zero chance that the police did not know about Weinstien. I mean fuck, there are reports of people like Matt Damon and Russel Crowe working to suppress reports of Weisnstien's abuse. He was one of the most powerful people in the entire god damn industry. Meryle Streep literally referred to him as "God", that is the kind of power he held.

Also, this is no different than an employee being afraid to speak up when their boss sexually abuses them. Especially if everyone around them laughs off the antics or has defended them against other accusations.

my second line.

because i'd be like "why are you still working for that guy when he did that to you?"

"why don't you say something?'

i'm such an asshole.

Yes, exactly. Because you have no fucking clue how victims feel or what they go through.

kind of ballsy to assume i've never been a victim of anything.

With how you're acting its pretty easy to assume you haven't dealt with that kind of sexual abuse. Let's not forget that it also comes with a dose of emotional and mental abuse as well. I I have known several people that have dealt with sexual abuse from people with power over them. They're afraid to say anything, afraid to quit, afraid to say no. The abuse is pure psychological manipulation. It completely fucks up a person's mind. The more of it they face, the more it looks like their abuser is getting away with it, the harder it is to say anything. They feel its pointless and that the best thing for them to do is to say anything and act as it everything is okay. It can take years, decades sometimes, to overcome that mindset and be willing to talk to anyone about it.

if they allow it happen to others then they are just as bad as the abuser. i.e harv.

Yeah, after all it's her fault. I mean, she quits the job, and her next employer will call her former boss for any credentials, and since he harassed her, he will do the right thing and give a glowing report of his sexual prey's job performance. Simply because he is just that great a guy.
No, he would never, ever try to trash talk her.
My take is , since he couldn't keep her to work for him, so he could keep on abusing her, he'd do all he could to get he from getting that next job to begin with.
Such is the nature of sexual predators.

Exactly this, and even if it turns out to be false the person being accused is already done for / carrer / life ruined and people will continue to argue their guilt.

There should be a law allowing for people to be wiretapped/videotaped and use that against them. Sexual deviants should not find protection anywhere. And the innocent should not have to ever be accused of doing such things and prosecuted without sound evidence.

and if she has evidence of his crimes then he won't be in any position to be talking to anyone about her cause you know he'd likely be fired for sexual harassment.

not to mention the criminal case.

I cannot say you're wrong, but the term 'closed doors' comes to mind. Not to mention influence.
Harvey Weinstein is a great example for that. And I am willing to wager there are many different caliber Weinsteins out there, not as successful, rich, popular, or the extent of their harassment and abuse. Whatever the metrics might be, there are quite a few of them, I am sure.

again physical evidence is key here.

also any lawyer would be gnawing at the bit to take a piece of any civil settlement i'm sure.

He should get to double it, quadruple it and get the extra 100% - 300%. But yeah, I'd hate for someone to lose their livelihood and business, one the basis of just ONE account without any substantial evidence.

If people want to get extremely friendly at work, and agree to such relationships, so be it. But perverts who are in a position of strength and use it to abuse their employees, need to go. And should not be made rich in the process.

that's why i said with physical evidence.

he said she said shouldn't be enough to put someone away or ruin them i agree.

also i totally agree with do not stick your pen in the company ink and policies that make them a fire-able offense.

always ends up bad

sexualization =/= objectification
objectification =/= dehumanization
dehumanization =/= irrefutably evil

Therefore there is NO direct connection between sexualized figures and evil, unjust activity.

Be glad Trump won, then: Weinstein was a good friend of the Clintons.
They and their "FOB" gang would have covered for him, just like they did for serial-rapist Bill.

#MeToo grew out of the liberal elite's Post-Trump Stress Disorder. All that rage had to go somewhere.
In their shiny-happy dream world of President Hillary, business would have continued as usual.

Sexual deviants should not find protection anywhere.

Do you realize you just advocated tearing up the Constitution for LGBT, BSDM practitioners, and so on?
Oh, not what you meant by "sexual deviant?"
Then what did you mean? Who gets to define what "sexual deviant" is?

And don't say "the people," because "the people" made interracial marriage illegal until 1967.

dehumanization =/= irrefutably evil
I've dehumanized 99.99+% of the human race.
I don't know those creatures, not even their names, and "frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Tentacles or GTFO!
We try not to sexualize our tentacle overlords.

You know it's funny but whenever I see younger female realators business cards they are always wearing something form fitting with a bit if clevage and full makeup. Same with recruiters and rental office agents. The stores where they sell heavily marked up items or costly items (glasses and condos for example). They always bring out the prettiest girl.

If as a guy I did that (show chest muscle) and not a full business suit I'd be laughed out.

So it's okay to objectify when it works towards your advantage?

Yep. When it comes to business attire, men are thoroughly oppressed.
Going into the office with bare shoulders, much less backless or showing some chest, that's verboten for guys
-- unless you work at a gym or a strip club.

Yep.. and #metoo (pound me too) seems like a poor choice of hashtags to me.

To answer your curiosity: The NCSE's original name was "Morality in Media". They are heavily anti-porn and have extremely "religious" beliefs when it comes to sex and sexuality. They essentially hide their bullshit under "think of the children" arguments. The head of the group used to work for the government, going after people that produced "obscene content" in the late 80s and early 90s.

ah, everything makes sense

Because they're afraid of the retaliation? Is it really so hard for people to believe that powerful people have the ability, and money, to ruin anyone's life if they make accusations?
Weinstein never assaulted or forced anyone as far as I can gleam from the reports. No I'm not saying he's not scum. I'm saying this is a two way street. Not reporting it was a conscious decision in every case, they put their careers ahead of their pride. Not just once, but twice. First when they entered into a private room with the pig, second when they decided not to report anything. Suddenly deciding 20 years later that you are a victim is not gonna fly in my book. You're not a victim, you're a multi-millionaire.

I'm sick and tired of people treating women in these cases as if they have no agency. Assuming that the woman is pure victim in every case is the very definition sexism.

The funney thing is that eroge that they are calling out does nothing of the sort it is about 4 girls working at Victoria secret with potential yuri relationships.

I mean I see one upside to this as a parent...If I find my son playing this, I don't have to worry about some random girl getting pregnant because I know for a fact he isn't getting laid. People gotta learn how to see the silver lining.

You're assuming he isn't doing both. That's like saying men who are in a relationship don't look at pr0n occassionally.

In fact the percentage the of monogamous relationship is dropping.

Hear, hear! The SJWs are to blame that fat, old, white men no longer can grope women with impunity!

Edit:

Yeah, the sad thing is that so much sexual harassment and assault has gone on for so long, and continues. At least the #metoo movement brought some light on this and some perpetrators where hold to account.

The pejorative SJWs is so often thrown out the moment someone tries to lessen the misogyny that exists, whatever they do.
No... hundreds of years of social and biological evolution have made men the way we are. Our instinctual urges promote the survival of the species. Radical feminists are trying to impose the feminists perspective on everyone and in doing so is denying and invalidating the male experience. "You" are promoting misandry... "You" are promoting anti-male sexism...
