Steam 2015 summer sale is here! runs from June 11th to June 22th!

I never played the Witcher series, would playing W3 be pointless if I didn't play 1&2?

I only played maybe 2 hours in Witcher 1. I've played through Witcher 2 twice now. I think you can pick it up. Might want to buy Witcher 2 and play it first, that was a heck of a game and it's dirt cheap.

Yeah I agree about not really needing to play the 1st witcher but the second witcher was funny, I got drunk and have the neck tattoo. I imported that into the witcher 3.

gta5 being $60 and having to wait soo long for it's release is crazy.

Not really. Its still the highest demand AAA release on PC currently. And based on that, not sure why some people are expecting desperation fire sale pricing on it only 2 months after release.

Thinking of buying GTA 5 for $59.99, it's 25%, original price is $79.99...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

^ That's with the online cash in GTA V I think.

Just picked up FF13-2 for $10, still plowing through FF13 as we speak, just got to chapter 12.

I'm sure it is, but with the current state of my backlog plus other unexpected expenses this month I'm really trying to limit what I buy. I set my limit to only games under $10 but I was willing to stretch to $15 for LotF.

Haha, I feel the same way. My backlog is such that I initially set my limit to $5 and under, but I made exceptions for The Evil Within ($15), The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, and the Metro Redux bundle. Money well spent so far.

How is that on the PC? I thought about picking both of them up, but too many reviews talking about how poorly optimize it is on the PC, and this from reviewers who have systems that absolutely crush mine.

yes!...one of the 2 games I was waiting to go on sale finally showed up as a Daily Deal today...Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is $4.99

Yup, in for Ground Zeroes and TDU2. Thinking about Flight Simulator X and Devil May Cry, too...

Overgrowth looks awesome; too bad it's early access.

the summary of the game is funny...

"Overgrowth is a third-person 3D action game that allows you to leap and climb through sprawling levels as a ninja rabbit"

I know, right? What more could you want! :D

Any thoughts on "Test Drive Unlimited 2" for $5? It has a mediocre rating of 72/100. : \

Long ago I saw a NerdCubed video on Overgrowth and when I looked into I found that it's been in alpha since 2008, sorry but this is a perfect example of why Steam needs to limit how long something can be early access (sure it wasn't on Steam all that time, but it's still assinine.)

As for this sale, I'm not impressed, yes it appears they have eliminated some of the constant repetition of some titles (between daily, flash and people choice some titles have been on sale for almost a week straight in the past) but the sales themselves are sort of shitty and titles have been lower in the months before the sale then they are during the sale.

Hell I've seen a couple items that were less during the Winter sale then they are now, 6-7 months later, during the summer sale. That's just wrong.

After buying a ton of game on the Winter sale I kinda figured out what type of game it's going to be.... so I'm a lot more careful only bought one game on sale and two games that are not even out yet. On the last two sales I bought a bunch of Turn based stragety games which I have zero time to play so it's kinda like stay away from those. 1st person shooters well....... unless it has a good twist it's still a 1st person shooter no matter how you turn it. Waiting for games like Tides of Numerna to show up and maybe Doom 4.

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide

Hellraid

are the only games on my wishlist now.....

Dear Hellraid fans,

We would like to officially announce that our dark fantasy FPP game Hellraid will not be released this year as previously planned, and the development of the game has been put on hold.

In the recent months we conducted an internal analysis and came to the conclusion that Hellraid, in its current shape and form, is not

aw that's too bad. I hadn't heard of Hellraid and just watched a trailer, I would have bought it :(

IMHO, you will need to use either DSR or GeDoSaTo for FF13. The texture resolution looks blurry up to and including 1440p, but even a little bit beyond that it is a world of difference.

There are stuttering issues with FF13, but I have come to the conclusion that the 'stuttering' is a result of intermittent 30 fps caps that introduced. I find it hard to imagine that

1. it's exactly 30 fps in those areas where it is 60 fps elsewhere
2. there seems to be no apparent graphical reasons for the 30 fps caps in some cases
3. setting the game to 720p does not remove the 30fps caps.

It's probably less of a problem on consoles as they are generally played on TV and they probably have a different way to show the frames that 30fps won't look too bad. Either that or I am really sensitive to 30 fps.

Beyond that, even DSR'ing to 4k, even running only on 1 of my 970's, the gpu only gets about half used most of the time. So all in all, I am pretty impressed with it.

I might be biased though since this is my first recent FF game I have played, ever, so I am probably quite ethusiastic about it.

Definitely use GeDoSaTo for games like this.

It's distance from the screen also. Sub-60fps is a lot easier to take if the screen is more than five or six feet away.

Some of us have suffered quite a few Final Fantasy games :D

Picked up Hand of Fate
and Batman Origins

along with Blops III =)

and ARMA III I wouldn't but the game is always populated unlike COD AW...

I want Dungeon Defenders II but up in the air how Kooky it might be...

I used all my Steam Cards =(

Is SpecOps: The Line worth it? Heard decent things about it but haven't picked it up yet. Saw it's a flash seal for $6 today.

Also..speaking of cards...anybody wanna trade me a Crusta-Sean and/or Cerulean Carmouth? I have a couple spare Bobs and a spare Blitzkrieg.

It's worth it but it's not a great port. Luckily there are tweaks to fix things like FOV and mouse acceleration. Gameplay is decent and the story is really good.

I don't know why people like SpecOps it has a so-so story, yes different from your typical mindless FPS, but aside from that it is even worst than your FPS as far as action and gameplay which is horrible. The controls are a huge nightmare, it handles like a mule on cocaine.

I will agree that the controls suck at default. I think the story was above average for a military shooter.

If you were wondering about the Monster minigame, scripts that abuse Wormhole are getting groups up to level 43,081,526 (at the time I type this). The Steam Badges stopped at level 1 million, they're just going there because they can.

No, there's a 300M badge. It's best to save wormhole for the later levels that are harder, as in 30 minutes before 9AM PST. Unless they just aren't handing out those higher level badges, even though the icons were found. Yeah they are at 50.5M now.

Are you sure? I cant find anything about a 300m badge. It was originally a 300k badge and the last I saw was they added a 1 million badge. My badge still says 1 million even though my highest level is 7.7 million.

I could be totally wrong. You are probably right. It was 300 something, heh.

Meh, I bought it. For $6 I figured might as well - my friends that have it said the story is pretty good so they thought it was worth the $6.

There are far worse games than Spec Ops: The Line. Especially for just a few bucks. I recently started playing it again and haven't had any problems with the controls once I remapped some keys.

Spec Ops: The Line was pretty good. Honestly I felt it was a bit overhyped overall...the story was great but the gameplay was mediocre and generic at best.

It turns out the maximum level is 100M; the game stops in level 100,000,001, and they reached that in 10 hours today. There is now a 100M badge. It's possible Valve may increase the maximum level and badge further.

There's script vs troll wars going on here; trolls are deliberately using wormholes at bad times to screw up the scripts, so the scripters are screwing up the trolls by spamming the scripts.

By listening to them, I joined a room that has taken me to level 3M so far.

It'd be different if you got something for getting that high. But seeing as all you get is a badge with the level text so small that you can barely read it without leaning in, I find it really difficult to care that someone's gaming the system to make it all the more easy to unlock discounts...even if most of them (with the exception of 50% off Command Naval and Air Operations) are for 'seriously?' games like JRPGs and the like.

Or by nuking every boss ... game is ripe for trolling with 1500 per room.
