Steam 2013 Winter sale is here! runs from December 19th to January 2nd.

DMC is actually really good and much better on the PC than its predecessors. Just an FYI.

will Old World Blues (Fallout: NV DLC) go on a Flash/Daily deal or is the current 'holiday' price of $3.34 the lowest it will get?

Not sure but I paid only $5 for the goty edition. A few steam sales ago.

Also I just got a foil snow globe card and sold it for about $2. That was random.

waiting for sniper elite v2 to go on a good sale, the base game is half off, but all the dlc is still full price

Dark Souls is a crime at $6. If you enjoy rpg is well worth it. Very very hard game but I think it works well. Its not overly hard just to be hard like some games. Its more of a learning curve than anything else I think. Once you learn the basic mechanics of the game it gets a little easier. Plus when you do finally beat a difficult area you get a real sense of accomplishment.

On the other hand, I feel like it's tedious to have to run back to where you died to recover your body, which is oftentimes pretty far away. And if you save at a bonfire closer to where you want to be, or on the way, all of the enemies respawn.

It's not a bad game, but after about 10 hours I got sick of it, so it's not for everyone.

At $6 it's totally worth getting to see for yourself, though. A controller is highly recommended.

Shit, I meant to vote for Deadly Premonition.

I did. Master Reboot and Dream looked interesting, but Deadly Premonition proposed a higher %/dollar amount off so technically the better "deal." I don't know which of the 3 is the best game though, as I know very little about any of them.

Yeah I really hope Deadly Premonition wins, I wanted to pick it up when it came out but decided to wait for the sale.

Seems like a really polarizing game, either you love it or hate it.

However I loved Twin Peaks and enjoy games like Silent Hill so it seems like something right up my alley since it seems like a mix of both of them.

people often cite that as a reason why they stopped playing but it's not valid...once you understand the mechanics you realize that there are many hidden bonfires throughout the game plus you don't have to fight most of the enemies from the bonfire respawn location to your last bloodstain...you simply run past most of them...if you had to re-fight every enemy then it would definitely be tedious but it's not the case

resting at a bonfire versus continuing on with no rest (save) is one of the many choices you need to make in the game which adds to the difficulty

Devil May Cry looks good. Tempted to see the graphics but don't necessarily have the time to play.

New flash deals are out, I would recommend picking up Insurgency. It used to be a mod, now is an early access game, one of they very few I would take a chance on. It seems like it's been in some sort of alpha/beta stage whatever for ages now - not the most polished game ever, but from when I purchased it to now lots of improvements and additions have been made. As far as I know this game's coop mode is the closest thing to bringing me back to the Ravenshield terrorist hunt days. Skirmish and seige are your typical round based TDM and capture and hold gametypes, they're okay fun, but I see some good classic fun coming out of this game.

Been meaning to check out Strike Suit Zero for awhile now. Would definitely pull the trigger if it went down to $5

I agree and it also makes you actually try and not die. Most games these days there is no real downside to dying. You just respawn instantly in pretty much the same spot you died in and dont loose anything. I equate it to old school platforming games like Mario. If you died you had to start the level all over again.

Another day of recycled games that's been on sales/flash/daily deals already, meanwhile the few games that lost in the "community choice" that I wanted (brothers/Deadly premonition) aren't, as usual, on a daily deal/flash deal.

Yeah, they are really quite bad. Even the Flash Deal choices aren't that good.

EDIT: Don't Starve appears as 92% off on the front page, but when I went to the game page it's only 66% off. Wtf?

They had the Don't Starve 2-pack for 1.79 for about 2 minutes you snooze you lose :D

I purchased a 2-pack of Don't Starve during the last sale and will pass the spare copy on for the $3.82 I paid for it. I know it's not 92% off, but it's cheaper than Steam currently has it.

Nah, I'm not super interested in it, just noting the pricing shenanigans. Thanks though. :)

Yup, more recycled garbage

And how Prison Architect is still $15 is beyond me

Yeah I am baffled by that as well. I've watched some LPs of it and I can't really see paying more than $5-10 for it...there isn't really THAT much game.

Judging based on feedback from friends that were stupid enough to plump for Prison Arcitect in the past, it's not even worth 5 dollars. The game has had yonks and yonks and is still nowhere near fully playable yet, to say nothing of a full beta test or nearing any kind of proper release. Such a fucking joke and I've followed it closely because its exactly my genre and I want to love it.

BLOPS II worth $30? Haven't bought a CoD game since MW3.

It's actually supposed to be one of the better CoD games out of the more recent ones, which many people have a negative opinion about. I just can't stand Activision's "We will NOT heavily discount these very similar FPS games like pretty much every other publisher does with their games!" attitude. I mean, there are better games that sell for less (and much sooner).

Oh man, I really want LEGO: Lord of The Rings.... unfortunately if I spend any more I'm gonna be in deep shit.

I am getting Metro Last light, which is on Flash sale for $13.59.

Is the Season pass worth it for $5.09?

Just end the sale early; this is embarrassing.

For us cheap asses that have been holding out this has been a decent sale. Total spent among 5 accounts (you know you're a PC Gamer family when...) is about $130 or so. More than I had spent in the last 3 or 4 sales combined.

Well, in terms of cheapest deals, Steam has been shitty compared to its competitors which had better deals on the popular games than Steam. This time around is especially BS because they decide to throw in those unfinished games at slightly lowered costs. So, do yourself a favor and do some more research, if you're a real cheap ass gamer, then every bit counts.

Been doing that as well. picked up BL2:GOTY from getgamesgo for $15 after the pricing gaff the other day. Most the stuff I've bought so far I haven't been able to find cheaper elsewhere, but it was a ton of indie games and other sub $5 puchases.
