Anyone else have a Mac Mini or any other mac that is pretty picky about making the startup "BONG!"? Mine does it really sporadically. Is there any way to fix that?
Yeah I noticed on my mini once in awhile it doesnt make the sound. But at the same time, the screen res goes to like 640x480 and after i login, it goes back to what I had it at for the default. I dunno. Weird. But it doesn't warrant sending it in to be fixed cuz it doesn't happen too much.
If your machine is muted when it is shut off or restarted then it will not make the bong when you turn it back on (same with the volume adjustment-the volume also applies to the following startup sound). As for the screen res - that sounds like what happens when the PRAM is reset or the PRAM battery is dead which shouldnt be the case as your Mini is obviously pretty new.
