I actually really enjoyed Warhammer, as broken as it was. IF they had the server strength to make their endgame work at launch it might have been a worthwhile game

Yeah, you could really see the potential WAR had. Had it worked, had they built more of a virtual Old World, instead of a linear game that had nothing but broken RvR as the endgame, it could have been a hit. It's sad that Mythic dicked it up so badly. I loved my Chosen.

$150.00 is a little much IMO. The authenticator is cool I guess. I wonder though. Can you make your own USB authenticator?

I doubt it, but you can get them pretty cheap for WoW, I think they are like $4-6, so I'd expect the same for swtor. And I'd be willing to bet they will have free Andriod and iPhone apps on or around launch.

Balance was a bit broke too. Oathbearer + warrior priest = gg. That said, I'm hoping that SWTOR doesn't screw up the balance in the game.

From a PVP perspective, I like how they're handling CC immunity. The way Trion handles diminishing returns in Rift makes PVP hell for melee classes. I swear, all I ever see on my warrior when I leg sweep is 'immune'.

I got the digital deluxe edition from origin. Didn't see any point in CE at double the cost plus I dont even have a DVD rom installed anymore. Looks like release is going to be October or Early November also.

Seems like the CE will really be limited this time around here is a post from the offical forums...

Someone contacted Customer Support earlier this morning on the SW:TOR General Discussion forums:
"For those who have pre-ordered the Base Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, Head Start access will begin three days prior to the release of the game. For people who have pre-ordered the Collector's Edition, the Head Start access will begin seven days before the game's official release.Head Start will end on the day that Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is released. However, as a courtesy to our pre-order customers, you will be given an additional five days after the game's launch to purchase Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ and redeem a game code.

If there is a delay in entering your code due to your retailer being unable to provide one immediately, it will not affect your entitlements as outlined above."

I'm still not sure the CE is worth the asking price. I've been burned for being stupid with my money on a couple "Limited Editions" and as it is, I'm kind of reluctant. Probably just grab the Digital Deluxe and call it a day.

Can't freaking believe I did it but I just dropped the bones on the CE at Gamestop. Silly me. Freaked a bit when I saw that Origin preorder already sold out.

Ordered the CE through Amazon.com. Been enjoying the closed beta a great deal & found the perfect guild for the game. So I'm 100% ready for this game.

$60 for just the standard version? The headstart advantages for more $$ really turn me off. I was already skeptical of this game, but now I'll definitely wait out the first month and see if there is a mass exodus. I really don't like the idea of having to use Origin either.

good to see that you are enjoying it. I really want to avoid a new MMO so I'm adopting a wait and see approach to the game. If it takes off I will likely get suckered into it.

The thing people keep forgetting is this is Bioware.

Bioware only made 1 shitty ass game....Dragon age 2 was the worst game they made, yet better then most other games.

Its like Blizzard, whens the last time you can remember them making a shitty game....

O me too. I bought it day 1. But out of all the bioware games I honestly think it was the worst.

But it was still a damn good game (this shows how good bioware really is imo)

The Collectors Edition should have been 99$ if you ask me. Nothing in the collectors edition really cost much to make in China these days, and the digital items are basically free for bioware to add. Considering you can buy the Swtor Digital deluxe edition + battlefield 3 for cheaper than the collectors edition.

ah, but you forget that it's Star Wars (i.e. Lucas controlled)

$150 for a figure , some discs and a bunch of so-so in game items? Pass.

I love all this "head start" bullshit , your going to be playing SW:OR for months , possibly years what good does a 3 or 7 day head start give you? Most people are going to buy the standard edition at launch so even if you wanted to raid you'll need to wait on enough people to reach the proper level. Unless everyone in your guild preorders at the same time or something of the like.

I'll be patient and just buy it day 1.

I remember when you could get 3 new release pc games for $150.00..
This is really just them taking advantage of SW fanboys. That said, I guess I'm just as guilty. Cuz if Guild Wars 2 has a $150.00 CE I'll be in for 1! lol

How are you expected to properly grief people on Day 1 without the head start!?!?

Well, I am a sucker and bit on the CE version on Amazon. I have never bought a CE edition of any game before, but I am a big Star Wars nut. :)

Bioware makes quality games (save for 1 or 2) and for what its worth - Gentile Giant makes very high quality collectibles for Star Wars - among other properties. Head on over to starwarsshop.com and look at their busts - typically they retail for $50 or check out their website at gentile giant and see their products.

The cost of the CE may mostly be due to the Darth Malgus statue - which I gladly preordered from Amazon.

ordered the CE from Amazon late last night as soon as I got the pre-order email.
$150 is steep, but I've been a good boy lately....dropped less than $30 last Steam sale ;)

I won't spend that much on any game. I don't care WTF it comes with.

Yeah my wife is probably going to rip my head off and shit down my throat...but I have been waiting for this game for 2 1/2 years.

I was just coming to post something about the quality and cost of the statue they are including with the CE.

After checking out the Gentle Giant collection, they seem to produce high quality stuff. I think the statue alone is what makes the CE worth the extra money. If you don't care about the statue, then obviously the CE won't be worth it for you. However, you know that somebody would probably be willing to buy the limited edition statue alone for at least $70 or more if you chose to sell it at some point down the road.

All that being said, I ordered the CE off Amazon  I'm not the type to spend more than $50 on a game either, so this is a first (and probably last) ridiculously expensive game purchase for me.

If this wasn't a potential WoW clone like RIFT was, then I'd probably order it. Otherwise, I'm not spending $150 on something I will probably get bored of within 2 months.

Does anyone else find it strange they are trying to get people to pre-order the game before their is even a wide spread beta? an Open beta? Or any large amount of people that have actually gotten any hands on time with this game? I feel they are trying to pull a quick one get people to buy a game before most people even play it to sell more copies. It appears to me as if they were hiding something and want to sell out before people realize the game is crap and they cant sell copies.

Most MMO's dont go up for pre-order until a large scale beta or open beta.... = /
not to mention you are pre-ordering a game with no official release date?

Preordered the CE at Gamestop this morning. So glad I'll finally be done with EQ2 in a few months.
