Lol, You pay $45.00 for the cheapest full game package and then use REC to play any ship you want with any loadout you want FOR FREE. Your dishonesty is epic.
You don't earn REC in Vanduul Swarm, and having to play against players with good ships and good load outs is not enjoyable with a stock Aurora MR to earn the REC. You need to sink serious hours into the game each week to keep the good combat ships unlocked. The Kickstarter that I backed specifically said the game was not pay to win, but that is not the case. Having to grind to keep things unlocked is pay to win and common in freemium games like APB where things expire.
wrong
What is wrong? Are you claiming my personal experience from just several weeks ago did not happen?
Yes, you can play co-op swarm in an aurora, 2 or 3 times to earn 1500 REC to rent a merlin, which is essentially an m50 or better in some cases from a combat / evasion perspective, and then you have that ship, and can renew it at a discount.
New equipment is very cheap to rent as well and once rented also can be re rented at a discount, so if you find a setup you like you can just play normally and enjoy the game and keep re renting the stuff you want.
At first the 7 day rental thing sounds bad, but if you play one day, and dont play again for a week you still have 6 days left on your rental so it only ticks down a day when you actually play that day so a 7 day rental can last all month if you rarely play.
Its like people around here have a problem with actually playing the game to earn things. When it is not that hard to do.
Once you have a Merlin, you should be able to stock pile REC very fast which means you can rent what ever you want when you want it, because you don't really need to spend REC at that point unless you choose too.
How far do you have to get in Vanduul swarm to earn REC? I played it for like 30 - 40 minutes in some hornet variant with the gamescom promo and didn't earn any REC.

You are part of a cult. You need help.
Sorry we have a Cyanide Kool-aid meeting at 6pm, help will have to wait.
Tho it is worth mentioning people are quick to label things they don't understand.
Also a good tactic to use in co-op swarm if you are in an aurora is to wait for one of your team mates to engage and aggro the swarm, before you go in so that way they are not all gunning for you, and you can pick off the vanduul without getting lit up your self.

My first and only needed red flag to this whole debacle: Roberts' "actress" wife holding a high position of power. Gold
I'm calling it now. Public opinion of this game is going to continue to erode. The game will get released as a buggy mess.
If it ever gets an official 'release'. So many damn 'modules' that need to be completed, and then put together into a final product, Roberts talks about reaching the final release like fitting Lego pieces together. I wouldn't be surprised if they just release the buggy modules and never 'put them together'. Or maybe run a "HELP US PUT THESE MODULES TOGETHER" kickstarter. Pledge $900 and get free character title!!!
Greetings Citizens,
UPDATE: The attached demand letter is our formal response to specific, slanderous allegations made in the recent The Escapist article on Star Citizen. Normally, we would keep this behind closed doors, but we felt it was imperative to put our statement on record and indicate how disgusted we are with The Escapist’s irresponsible actions. Corporate at Defy Media asked us to delay publication of this letter while investigating, but we feel strongly that the record needs to be set straight without further delay.
We know that most Citizens are not interested in this drama, and as such we are updating the original notice rather than publishing additional Comm-Link articles. Future updates will occur here rather than in additional sections of the RSI site.
Interestingly, the letter refutes the validity of The Escapist’s vetting process. See, the author claims she used Company ID cards to verify identity, but Cloud Imperium Games claims in their response that CIG “does not issue any company ID cards at any of its studios.” The plot thickens when you see this exchange of tweets suggesting that the ID card the author saw was nothing more than a generic RFID card like this.
So things are picking up, /grabs popcorn

So basically instead of offering up proof that what was said is wrong, CR is trying to strongarm critics into shutting up.
I wish all this BS would just go away so they could get back to work on the game...all of this just detracts from development time IMO.
Except it's precisely development time and/or lack of proper management of time that's on trial here in the first place.
Has anyone seen CR, anywhere, deny the claim that they only have 8 million dollars left? He said some claims were false, but I don't recall him saying that that particular claim was false in his 25 page crazy ass rant, I mean letter.
All he says is the they have a "healthy cash reserve" which is completely subjective and not really at all informative. Then he says they have other funding sources like tax incentives, marketing and product parterships. How is he making money off tax incentives and marketing parterships?
Why didnt he say that 8 million dollar thing was a lie?
my guess? unless they come out with some kind of actual proof they don't want to discuss finances good or bad as that would make it seems like Derek and other haters can get info with enough bad PR. Its no different then when a coworker asks me what I make, my answer is always "enough to support me" because discussing finances with anyone but your boss or spouse is a usually not a good idea and just opens a can of worms later on.

Progress is still being made, albeit admittedly slow. Most of the attacks I am seeing lately are related to personal issues between employees and "OMG they charge hundreds for ships!!!11" when that has already been a thing for years.
lol all the butthurt anti sc crowd. Do you guys expect a game such as star citizen to be finished in a year and a half because this is how long the actual game has been in development. Humanity is doomed.
you forgot things like game design, marketting. Finding offices etc these things take time to complete you dont just pull a game studio out of your behind. You also forgot they prob had to study cry engine, tech form amd should we go on.When the Kickstarter was launched in 2012, a year after development began in 2011, the announced release date was 2014. You are now claiming that development began in 2014. Are you sure this is how you want to proceed with your argument?
lol, now the diehard fans can't even remember how long they've been waiting on the game. Amazing.

you clearly need your head examined. Would you rather have have a rushed game and never endig dlc(i bet you would be the first to moan, whine and complain like a jilted feminist), or have a game like star citizen crowdfunded and created by a perfectionist. If it succeeds it would change gaming for good. No more crappy ports, no more nvidia gamesdontwork breaking games, no more overpriced dlc. There are so many positives but they are overshadowed by haters. We get it you dont understand Chris Roberts Vision to create the ultimate game of all time. Comparing Elite Dangerous to Star Citizen is like comparin caviar to dog poop.
I'd take the bet that SQ42 will be out before February. Effectively one month after Chris Roberts' expected finish date.
