There ya go, those are perfect examples of why you need to make sure people understand they aren't buying ships they are donating money to a concept of a game. You can expect all you want, and your intentions can be A or B but you need to ground yourself in reality.
I'll be honest, I can't wait to laugh and make fun of some the people that pledged a shit ton they couldn't afford to lose or thought that if they donated $50k that Chris would suck their you know what. You should also get to enjoy that, life is to short to not make fun of peoples stupidity. However I have no doubt that is a very small portion of the already very small percentage of backers who go above the normal $45-$60 pledge.
It will also be interesting to see the sales number after release. I'm still not convinced that space sims in the present day aren't still a small market. That was essentially the entire reason for the game being crowd funded, yet it's gone way above and beyond the original monetary goals. They have expanded more of the FPS roles so perhaps it can bring in a larger market.
