And it takes a bit to get to level 5. Your level only goes above level 1 if you are actively attacking innocent people and blowing up empty ships. Normal play will not go over level 1.

I mean, kill the arrays to make the area 'not-monitored', and then its OK. But monitored arrays, and Port Olisar and CryAstro will get you.

Updates and Fixes
Star Systems:
  • Fixed an issue where the audio for activating/deactivating a Comms Array could be heard across the solar system.
  • Fixed an issue where players would become stuck in their bedroom upon spawning into Crusader.
  • Increased quantity of asteroids in Yela.
Game Systems:
  • Player will now be kicked from server if they have a criminal level of 5 and kill themselves.
  • Fixed an issue where passengers in a non-multicrew ship were being ejected when ship went into quantum travel.
  • Fixed an issue where the player hostility respawn timer would freeze if the players wanted level was reduced before the timer finished.
  • Fixed a collision issue where players could potentially clip through solid objects.
  • Fixed an issue where the FPS weapon targeting reticle would stop displaying while in EVA mode.
Ships:
  • Fixed an issue where entering a ship with interior physics via EVA had a high chance of killing the player.
  • Fixed an issue where there was too much glare on the Sabre Cockpit window.
  • Fixed an issue where killing a Sabre in Arena Commander was not giving kill credit.
  • Fixed an issue where the Constellation missile pods could be mounted on any ship.
  • Fixed an issue where the pilot would be stuck in their seat if the copilot exited their seat in the Cutlass first.
First Person:
  • Fixed an issue in the Holotable where cooler hardpoints were not displaying correctly for multiple ships, including the Mustang series, Aurora series and the Super Hornet.
  • Fixed an issue where the P4-AR was showing up with “Replaceme” textures from any other perspective.
User Interface:
  • Fixed an issue where the UI was not updating correctly when a Comms Array was enabled/disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where quest notification text would not go away in AR (F10).
Technical:
  • Fixed several client crashes.
  • Fixed several server crashes.

Exciting news for Idris owners from Around the Verse episode today. Foundry 42 UK talking about testing:

TJ: Yeah, there’s a lot of ships!

NE: There is yeah! We’ve got the Idris in there which is quite exciting for some of the guys who’ve been doing playtests

TJ: In there as in, in-game?

NE: Yep. Flying around shooting people in turrets it’s quite good fun. It’s still a way off release but we’re starting to be able to play around with it. Which is really encouraging. It’s certainly big as cap ships going in there and actually seeing what they can actually do is fantastic.

Star Systems:

  • Fixed several texture conflicts in and around Jobwell in ArcCorp.
  • Fixed an issue where a medpack in the Medical Unit was not displaying the right name when in AR mode (F10).
  • Fixed an issue where characters could not view mobiGlas while a FPS weapon was drawn.
Game Systems:

  • Fixed an issue where quantum travel targets where obstructed for no reason, for the Gladius and Hornet.
  • Updated the point-value of several ships in Arena Commander.
Ships:

  • Fixed an issue where Auroras (all) appeared grey and were missing paint.
  • Fixed an issue where the countermeasure launchers on the Avenger (all) where missing detail levels.
  • Fixed an issue where the Sabre would lose all power to thrusters when its shields were recharging.
  • Adjusted the rotational speed of the Sabre to bring it more on-par with Hornets.
  • Slightly decreased the overall strength of the default shields for the Vanguard Warden.
  • Fixed an issue where the Revenant Gatling ammunition could be used on the Mantis Gatling.
First Person:

  • Fixed an issue where users could rotate their camera, such that they could see down the neck of their character.
  • Fixed an issue with the EVA thrusters would occasionally disappear from characters in Crusader.
  • Fixed an issue where the helmet flashlight would become visible in the characters field of view when running.
  • Fixed an issue where characters would jerk and snap around when exiting vehicles into zero gravity.
  • The Klaus & Werner ATT4 energy rifle is now correctly being awarded to players that kill a Level 5 Criminal.
Technical:

  • Fixed an issue where the users would sometimes crash to desktop with an assertion error.
  • Fixed an issue where the users would sometimes crash to desktop with a CryAnimation Error.
  • Fixed a number of client crashes.
  • Fixed a number of server crashes.

It looks like Citizen-Con will be at the same place they used last time in LA. Sunday OCT 9th. I think may try for it this year, since I'm usually off sundays and mondays and if the flights are cheap.

Datamined audio from 2.2 Calliope Project

Lots of clues as to where this belongs to:
- You are recovering from severe injuries; 90% burns over your body, disfigured features, internal lung bleeding, etc. From earlier datamined assets we know our character in the game is a survivor of the Vanduul attack on Vega (yes the one Admiral Bishop mentioned in his speech).
- You are given a choice from a biomodification company to choose a new look (facial features and body type), this is obviously an intro to the character customization portion of the game.
- You are also contacted by a Sergeant who gives you a choice to return to civilian life via medical discharge (which is obviously the option to enter the PU directly bypassing the single player campaign and without citizenship) or to continue to the Flight Academy (SQ42 single player campaign).

I was going to order the Vive, but then I realized by the time Star Citizen comes out I can just buy the Vive 2 by then hehe.

Supposedly they are going to try for a release candidate of 2.2 today.

  • Using the Holotable in the Revel & York hangar will cause the game client to become unresponsive.

  • Fixed an issue where players would experience desync after EVA’ing.
  • Fixed an issue where the oldest ship on Crusader would despawn even if in use, if a 17th ship was called for on Port Olisar.

I'm going to wait till there is a 4k version of the VR stuff and a good year or so before I decide to plop down money on it. I could never stand wearing those crappy 3 glasses just to see a movie. I honestly don't know if I'm going to be able to handle wearing a VR setup for longer than an hour lol.

Lorien, are you posting every patch because you are not in the PTU?
It's very obvious they are doing this daily, especially if you are in the PTU as it kicks you off the server when a new one is pushed

Did anyone else see the reports that the Caterpillar is much bigger? Some people are saying around 110m, which I'm going to take with a grain of salt. I can't find any official info and I'm just wondering if I'm missing something.

Managed to become level 3 criminal by deactivating Comm Arrays and attacking NPC defenders on 2.2.0i then I got timed out, only managed that 'cause server I spawned in was fairly empty. Gonna see if I can hit level 5.
2.2.0K live on PTU (pretty small ~1GB patch) the issues list is becoming smaller and smaller.

  • Fixed an issue where the loadout flashlight in Crusader would occasionally decide it was part of a rave and flash rapidly.
  • Made some additional tweaks to resolve issues with ship weapons projectiles desyncing from the local client in Crusader.
  • Made some additional improvements to resolve weapons fire not “converging” on the target correctly when fired.
  • Made some additional changes to EVA animations to smooth out some of the transitions.
Technical:
  • Fixed several client crashes.

If you don't want to download the whole thing and had PTU access rename the "Test" folder to "Public" and just verify the files

Wow framerates are great. I am getting at least double the frame rate. 24 players is nice too.
Now they just need to make the Sabre rentable so I can try it out.

I bought Freelancer MIS to Sabre upgrade (since I had store credits) but I'm not sure whether or not to apply it. I'd really need to try it first.

By the way, if you upgrade to Sabre, will you get VFG hangar too? None of my original non-upgraded ships came with Aeroview hangar yet I have it so that made me wonder...

I'm on the same boat. I will have to apply a Super Hornet upgrade from a vanilla Hornet and on top of that the Sabre upgrade and I know Customer Service won't unravel that spaghetti if I want to go back.

You get the VFG hangar if you upgrade.

I tried the sabre out last night in vanduul swarm. Honestly I don't think it's yet worth upgrading from a SH. If they do something with stealth mechanics, then maybe. But basically you go from the best combat ship (the SH) to one with less weapons and less survivability.

It is fast (260 w/ quad Panthers), looks good and the engines sound really good.

Cross chassis upgrades only change the ship, not the insurance, hangar, or extras.

Well... I don't have a single package that has Aeroview hangar or better yet I have it. I have 325A game package, Reliant -> Reliant Tana and this:
