Only way I'd get it is by grey market selling all my ships except my Idris, but I'd end up with 2 capital ships and an empty organization hangar.
I'm just gonna stay at what I have and treat myself for Xmas with a CLA250 4MATIC. :D

Some specs on the Carrack from an interview.

Details revealed:
Is 110 meters long (about 50 meters longer than the Constellation)
Has a little launch (docking bay) housing a small eva ship like on the reclaimer.
Has a buggy.
Price point between Redeemer and Reclaimer (about 325 - 350 USD)
Has four decks
More cargo room than Constellation
Crew of 6
Closer to Voyager than the Millenium Falcon

Differencences between Aquila and Carrack:
Longer total range
Carrack will have larger and "better" jumpdrive
Will be able to mount more "capital size" equipment.
Not as combat efficient, but will be able to take more punishment.
Aquila more multi-purpose.

These people are terrible at analogies. The Constellation is a less believable Falcon stand-in than the Retaliator. It's more of a Star Trek runabout. The idea of a 6-person ship being a stand-in for Voyager while being 1/3 the size is even more ridiculous.

Plus, Voyager was never designed for long-range exploration in the first place.

You know what i just noticed, if upgrades are going to get the 2 year insurance according to ben, you could tech buy a bunch of $5 Aurora LX upgrades for how ever many ships you may plan to buy in the future, like if you have interest in an avenger but do not want to buy and avenger now or even a full aurora LX pick up the $5 lx upgrade then buy the aurora when your avenger variant is flight ready and ccu into it ect...

or you could just buy a bunch to sell lol, couple month they will prob be worth 15-20 each.

going to wait until the upgrades actually have the insurance listed in them, but i know i will at least pick 1 up to get a possible avenger variant if i like one of those just to throw some extra insurance on it heh.

So I heard the upgrades will soon allow to upgrade 6 month insurance from packages to the 2 year insurance. Also is the super hornet upgrade something that can be done later in game with credit or is this limited to being upgraded before the game releases? In other words only those that bought super hornet with money can have the super hornet or will there be a hull upgrade option?

couple points.

Super hornet is in the full game for credits, but not as an upgrade it is a full ship only.

so if you only pledge for a normal hornet you can not "upgrade" it into a super hornet in game.

but you can buy a super hornet in game.

I think I will try this analogy and when I can CCU the Aurora LX to the Gladius, I will do so ;)

Now own the Aurora LX ship with 2 year insurance, why not.... ;)

Haven't really been keeping up on development, but I got my dog tag last weekend. Pretty cool, wish it was a bit thicker, but it doesn't feel flimsy.

I grabbed one of those AMD gold cards, what a deal. It includes an Arena Commander pass, so I was able to scrap the one I already had for store credit. Now to play some Alien:Isolation.

What would be the best way to upgrade to super hornet from the base hornet package? I got that in april when they still had alpha access on the packages. Is that needed anymore? seems like its either just upgrade the ship but keep 6 months insurance or melt the package and buy the super hornet package for 2 years insurance.

the upgrades during this sale will get the 2 year insurance it was an oversight on their web team for it to not include it, so the best way is to just get the upgrade. wait for them to add the 2 year insurance to the upgrade this week then apply it.

So when does anyone start believing this is one of the gaming communities best scam ever?

Not trolling very serious. I was very curious and interested in this game when first announced. It was slated for this year. Then pushed back to 2015. Now we are pushed back to sometime in 2016, potentially 2 years away still. I know people are very serious and a lot of money has already been invested. No offense, but Im pretty sure the money already invested will more than pay for the development so all this extra money is going somewhere.....

No one is curious? Id love to see this game as it seems beyond anything any company has put out but the money keeps rolling and the game keeps getting pushed back.

all the extra money is going to the game, which is ever evolving and it is pretty obvious it is not a scam.

I've been a skeptic too, but have you played Arena Commander? It's not like this is vaporware.

Don't feed the trolls. It is obvious he has no interest in the game and hasn't followed the development process at all other than to see the numbers increasing.

Too big to be a scam. Overly ambitious and too big in scope? That remains to be seen. Eventually they will have to put a stop to new features/content and lock down a build. All new funds can still go into future releases/updates.

With all the teams they have, I am sure some can continue progressing on content/features while a few teams lock down and stabilize the initial retail version. Although I am sure people will start complaining about the "they're working on DLC before the game released!!!11" stuff they always do. :p

Yeah, this morning I learned my lesson.

Over on FB, a friend posted a picture of ED. I just said, "No. No. That's the wrong game." I was just trying to give her a little bit of ribbing since the rest of our group are playing SC. OMG! It turned into this huge flamewar of which is better.

I guess people just have to be douches online.

well luckily "DLC" is just patches not paid for content. we likely wont see any new paid content until after SQ42 is finished and they begin work on the next mission disk.

so not sure if it can even be called DLC it is just more content being added to the PU for free.

Don't forget, the first expansion is already paid for. Thanks to all the Original and Veteran backers who pledged back at $6M EVERYONE will get the first SQ42 mission disk for free.

The first Squadron 42 mission disk, Behind Enemy Lines, available for free to all backers upon release. A 16-mission campaign in the style of The Secret Missions.

So I heard back from support earlier today, it seems that they are still willing to move alpha access for this sale, but I would ask ahead of time just to be sure:

Hi there

Thanks for your mail.

The anniversary sale is a bit special and we're moving alpha slots on a discretionary basis during this time. Let me know when you have melted the package containing alpha and I will swap it to a package of your choice! :)

Regards
Patrick

So I now have a 350r... I'm done spending money on this game now. Probably. :D

I'm now sad, I just saw the weekly comm link schedule and they have no Starfarer update

It's nice to see the Retaliator is coming as a bomber stock though. That's pretty sweet.

When will they update the site to show the insurance change for upgrades?

could be any time now i would think, not sure how hard it is of a change and for it to retroactively apply to ones already purchased ect.

I like the Gladiator. I really like it. I wanted on in the worst way. Then I saw the profile image no the Anniversary Sale page, and I hate it. The nose is wrong. All wrong. It could be such a damn cool ship, but the nose just makes it fugly.

Now the Retaliator! That is bad-ass!

....I need to talk myself out of buying a Javelin and I only have two days to do so. A Javelin would certainly soothe the wound of lacking an Idris but I just don't know if I can justify the price. Hell, I'm looking at spending around that same amount for a new PC chair (www.lifeformchairs.com , in case any are wondering. This will replace my Humanscale Freedom Headrest that has seen better days. If you're looking for the most comfortable/ ergonomic task chair around for your future Star Citizen cockpit, check out the Lifeform Ultimate Executive. Everyone's needs and likes vary, but I think Lifeform has a strong contender around! ), so I'm not sure I should plunk down that kind of cash right before the holidays.

Still, the call of the Javelin beckons... I suppose I can take solace in the fact that, if I decide not to buy one now, if they release any future Javelin lots (much like Idris-Ps at least), I expect they will still come with LTI.
