Stalker with my system, should I even bother?

I'm running on an AGP board, and I don't feel like spending the money to upgrade to PCIe and all the latest toys just to run the game. I'd still like to play it, but has anyone been able to run it decently on something similar to what I have listed in my sig?

played some of it on a 6800gt agp ehh had to lower specs more then i like was playable but decided to hold off till i grab a 8600gts in april.

Seeing as how I ran it decently on my 9800Pro and P4 2.4 Ghz I think you'll be fine.

I may have a different view of decent since I've never been able to experience anything better

Ha!! You can run this game great!!! I have Stalker running on my MacBook with Intel Integrated Graphics at 1024X768 low settings, but tweaked visuals, and it runs like butter

I would wait till they patch it first since so many people are having problems with it crashing.

I have a feeling games are going to look alot better when I upgrade the video card 3 generations.

I'm running it maxed out at 1680x1050 with static lighting and it looks almost as good as HL2.

So, yes you should be fine. I don't see what people have to complain about if it's not Dynamic (DX9). It didn't look that much better to me.
