Sprint SERO - last chance.

So, how exactly does this speed it up if it is still WM 6.1?


I might hold off (at least on the custom ROM) until my home internet connection is running, because all I've got at the moment is my Internet Sharing from the Mogul to hop online!

Make sure you have the newest rom running from HTC first:

Then once you've done that, go here:

use 2.40 to unlock the phone.


Then, go here for the kitchen:

You'll have to run the updater first, which takes about 20 minutes, make sure you download the 5067 files.

After that, run the kitchen, choose what you want, hit the play button, activesync your phone, hit next like 4 times and it does everything for you.

If you want, I can send you my txt file with the selections I have.

Also, use oxios hibernate, it frees up a bunch of memory after running stuff

Touchpal is excellent. I also like happy tapping keyboard for somethings, but at this pint, I think touchpal is better than everything else, and will likely register it.

FYI, new ROM is out for the sprint touch. Haven't installed it, but i've read that aside from adding EVDO Rev A and GPS, it also includes Opera 8.x for FREE!

Getting anything to install. I download it on my phone, but when I go to open it I get some kind of message say it's incompatible. I couldn't tell you right now as I'm going to leave for work right now, but I'll post back in the am hours; most likely 8-9am'ish.
 
So... I got as far as installing HTC's latest.
That went fine.

However the little tool (from what I gather- this helps to prevent bricking your phone- which is what I need!!!) that upgrades it after that... always errors out.

Tried several times- no dice. Like I said: HTC's worked.
It gets as far as the progress bar on the phone- but never goes past 0%. Never actually upgrades anything, as far as I can tell either (still boots fine).

Ideas?
 
We are getting pretty far from Hot Deals territory here, so this will be my last OT post.

1) The new Touch ROM is a big upgrade. WinMo 6.1, GPS, RevA, Opera...

2) I had 0 luck flashing across USB. Copying the ROM onto SD as VOGIMG.nbh worked perfectly.

If the above is too vague, start reading at ppcgeeks.

you should run olipro 2.40 unlocker from the link I provided, not sure what you're running there.

I ran the wrong app....

Seems to have worked. Except once it is done- what do I do? It says to continue flashing with a new rom, CTL+C out of that window, or if I want to exit out of bootloader, disable USB connections in Active Sync.

????

exit out of it....

this is where the kitchen comes into play where you can completely customize everything on the phone.

If not, run one of the newer stock roms, for instance the stock 5067 rom:

Isn't much faster than stock.
Cool apps, but quite honestly not worth all the little quirks :eek:
 
Got my $100 rebate today on my Mogul. Love the phone and was pretty fast turn around for the rebate; about 4 weeks.
