Sound card to go with Corsair SP2500 speakers?

If the speakers sound fine to you right now I don't see a need for spending more money atm. That said you might get better sound with something like a Xonar DX for $100ish. Going all out, you could get a Xonar ST/STX and use the analog out puts for $200ish. It should sound better, but by how much I can't tell you and is probably overkill for those speakers. You'll have to wait for someone else more informed to chime in on the current line up of Creative cards.

I just bought a Fiio D3 DAC it use's Spdif input and outputs using RCA jacks, Its 24 bit 192khz with a signal to noise ratio of >90 Db. Ill get back to you when I get it.

I just purchased a used Creative X-fi Titanium HD ($110) to replace my 7 year old original X-fi card. For two channel use and headphones (my preference). I don't think I could be happier.

The best, least expensive option for you would probably be this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102043

Is was $37 after the Promo code last week, but the price has gone up since then.

Personally, I have never had any driver problems with my X-fi's using 4 different motherboards and 3 different CPUs at this point. I think those problems are a thing of the past or are due to grounding issues in someone's case.

That is a good deal.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Perhaps I will just wait and see how they sound first. How easy is it to install a sound card?

Read the manual but pretty much:

Open box
Power down
Open case
Pop card in correct slot
Attach any required cables/screws
Close Case
Power On
Install Drivers

Good To Go :D

this is my new favorite budget sound card. i would reccomend this over any internal sound card under $80-$90 for speaker use.

installation goes goes like this:

plug into usb slot.
done.

driver free on windows and mac.
you can install ASIO drivers if you want though. :)

That looks like an intriguing piece of equipment.
OP, I would give the speakers a try and see if the sound is not to your liking before spending anymore money. If you do not like the sound or want more control I would look into anything except creative cards, my opinion.
