$2500 for an 11 inch display. Geez. Do you think it's so expensive because they don't have the infrastructure in place to mass produce them? I've been reading up on it and it seems they are easier and cheaper to build. So why the high price for such a small unit?

When will OLED be mainstream? I've read next year and I've also read somewhere that we'll have to wait till 2015. Anyone have any input?

Yah, I was reading that Samsung won't have a 40" oled till 2015. I just think it's all hype though. If Sony is pushing this 11" now then I think by the end of next year they should have some around 24". Unless... They all have a deal behind the scenes to hold them off so they can maximize profits on the LCD's and Plasma's? I want one really bad. lol

Maybe it's something to do with that thing where they have problems with the blue ones that they think they just recently fixed?

Yah. I read that too. They were having a problem with true blue and the South Koreans found a way around it. Still... up to 7 years to reach mass production? I want my 26" OLED yesterday! lol

the production costs are too high compared to the potential market in this current climate although if your rich you no doubt have one of these in a 40'' variant at home already lol

I think any news about OLED mass production should be handled with a massive amount of skepticism... People all over the place are making huge advancements in this technology... new problems will probably arise as old problems are dealt with

anyone know if OLED monitors will support multiple resolutions with the same sharpness as a native resolution on LCD monitors?

no reason why not it will probably have higher resolutions also if its been released in 2015 as mainstream...

It's cool technology, but it's years away from being ready for consumers.

Screen sizes are still small, prices are still high, and reliability is still a major concern.

It's fixed panel like LCD. So it will also have a native, optimal, resolution.
