Sony CPD-E500 out of focus?

I've got a Sony CPD-E500 running at 1600 x 1200 85 Hz. It worked pretty fine, but yesterday it went bad. It's like the entire screen is out of focus / blurry. Is there a way to fix this?

I love no input lag and 85 Hz...

Could be an issue with the focus divider circuit, you could try cleaning/turning the focus pots on the flyback although it may be dying, hard to tell.

I'm writing this on a 21" EIZO Trinitron tube running at that exact same res and refresh, it's still pretty slick even in 2012.

Yes, I have, but that has no effect.
This may sound strange, but the monitor should be hardly used. Does it 'age' even when unused?
Powering down the monitor and waiting makes the effect go away too.
