Something wrong with my Photoshop CS.

How come some options for Photoshop are faded out. For example, I wanted to destort something, but the option is faded out. When I say faded out, I mean the button is grey, instead of black. Please help me!

Ya that happened to me when I first got ps cs. Just remember always keep it on 8 bit

If you're using the paradox release too a bunch of shit doesnt work right, like moving selections with the arrow keys, or deleting selections with the del key just to name 2.
