Kudos to Chris Scullion for making an effort to catalog the VHS history of video games. Older millennials and classic console game fans should appreciate this. All videos will be captured in HD through a 1080p upscaler and so far, the videos look a bit better than most those up on other YouTube channels.

Check out the captures.

"These tapes are part of my childhood and that of many others, but they may also be of interest to international gamers," Scullion told me in a Twitter DM.

I still have my Amiga 500 demo VHS loop......pretty sure the guy doing the voiceovers as the guy who voiced Optimus Prime. "I am the Amiga 500.....I will empower every Cable Access Channel you've ever watched with GenLock compatibility, digital wipes and semi-decent Green Screen abilities"....

EDIT: Shit I'm old......I swore it was Optimus Prime. Not So. Then again this isn't my vhs, maybe this is a later one someone ripped to UTube. I'll keep hope alive. *sigh*

I can't judge, I have a 5MB hard drive the size of a filing cabinet and multiple, working, 8" floppy drives.

Two working Compaq portables as well.

Going from a couple of 4K 32" monitors to that little 9" screen is pretty rough though.

I miss my Amiga 500
Ami Pro
DigiPaint Hi Color Pal (Hold and Modify) Mode
DigiView
Sculpt 3D
Music Construction Set
F-18 Hornet

It was so much fun.

Any way, even the best VHS tapes were limited to a resolution of 400x240. (remember it was interlaced and Beta had a higher spatial resolution) You upscale crap, you still get crap.

I had the most fun with the C-64, Amiga, and an AMD Athlon 2500+ build. I've had systems between and after those, but to be honest, the fun is gone. I just browse porn now.

Yeah that's definitely not Peter Cullen.

This is Peter Cullen:

And don't forget Voltron.
