There is no nitro 7900 xtx available because they don't even last a minute on Newegg. tired of waiting for the last 2 weeks I bought this one. For my video processing, "job" i use topaz ai and proteus fine-tune, the card shaved almost 25-35% of processing time on 4k videos which is a great.
I ran some benchmarks, and I found the numbers of some of the "YouTubers" are kinda wrong... there is no coil whine, even playing Fortnite at 4k@144hz "competitive", the card pulls about 140 watts, and reaches about 57-63c...

We'd better not catch you posting some useful fps gaming numbers we can compare to other cards.

sure... I think this is the only game I own that has a benchmark option and seems to be broken anyway... fullscreen/windowed = different results.

That's idling, though, right? I am pretty sure it supposed to pull north of 300W under load.

Congrats on the new card. You're definitely pulling some [H] numbers there!

Most likely idle in the in-game menu. The 7900 series are power hogs for the for their actual performance in comparison to Lovelace for sure.

The new driver improved power consumption and 1% lows. Comparing new driver results to launch day drivers.

I think it’s because Fortnite's competitive mode doesn’t demand too much. It’s more like a “low graphics, high refresh, and low input lag thing. But, During the shadow of the tomb raider benchmark the card was pulling between 348w-370w while boosting a bit over 3ghz. Also, the difference between 2.9ghz and 3ghz is like 40watts.

It's strange that you say that and then contradict yourself by posting a chart that shows the reference 7900 XT to be the most efficient card by quite a bit.
Slightly edging out a 4080; but hey, small wins for the AMD fans, right? 🙄

Not sure your point on power hog where the chart you posted shows otherwise??? Some other fan? If it is more efficient then the 4080 per frame -> More efficient. What am I missing here?

Bleeding green is serious business.

Those card often do not play under load, depending on your monitor res-max hz and the game played.

There is no clear way to define power efficiency (even more than performance, because you add a new variable to that one), techpowerup for example:

watt-per-frame.png

Power hog many a bit much, but more of one vs a 4080 than the 3090TI was relative to a 6800xt, but they used a single game for those metric, the poster saw many case where that the case:

Assumed that it was always the same for every bunch of title played in every condition, quick google and paste without looking.

Nice. Beat my 3090, but I'm only using a 10700k on the compute side for now.

Is that power consumption idling on desktop? Old drivers?

Plus what game is picked can have a wildly different result. Picking for example COD Modern Warfare where AMD has a significant lead over Nvidia would skew it one way while Metro Enhanced Edition towards Nvidia. 30%+ differences in frame rates.

I think the real champion for power efficiency is the 4090, reduce the power target, performance does not go down hardly at all while less than 350w beating anything in its wake.
