Some ASUS Rampage III Extreme, eVGA GTX 480 SC, and PNY GTX 480 eye candy

I believe I read somewhere that the only boards that do quad sli are the 4 way classified, the SR2, and the unreleased UD9 because they have the NF200 chip.

It's not just the NF200. There are several board out there with the NF200 that do not support 4-Way SLI.

With nVidia's track record there is a good chance quad-SLI requires extra licensing or some similar BS.

Congrats on the system though.

Question, I have a Noctua NH-U12P SE2, any idea if it will properly fit on the Rampage III Extreme?

Lol never noticed the lights for mem with crazy, high and normal. Very nice setup! Hope you find what you need for the quad sli.

Dont want to highjack ur thread. But I have a N00B question: Does the rampage III mobo have usb3.0 headers? if so, how many? btw, REALLY SWEET system man. Also, could you let me borrow one of the GTX480s? I want to test my hypothesis, that the 480 can fry an egg. :)

Very nice rig!

This system best enjoyed extra big and potent Bawls! ( where can I get more? running low! )

Hobarama (the company the makes Bawls) had some financial problems

I suppose they ironed the problem out by now though. It's easily the best tasting energy drink out there. All the crap they sell at gas stations and grocery stores here has an overpowering tart flavor. That being said, you can still buy them at some Publix, Target, White Oak Stations, and a few other brick and mortar stores.

So....since you're stuck in Dual SLI mode I'd be happy to take 2 of those 480s :D

A little OT:
Does anyone know where I can get that software that displays all the voltage and temperature reading?
The one that displayed vertically, with green menu (shown in TS screen at pg2). Thanks

I can't find any software that allows me to read additional voltages like the PLL voltages.

i lol'd when i saw the amount of power that rig is pulling, that is some proper insane stuff, that power supply must be getting a good workout !!

thanks for all the pictures and stuff that was great, i just can't help but think the Rampage III looks ugly though :(

Asus say's the board only supports 3way sli. did anyone expect the 4th card to work?

there will be a blackout for blocks in his neighborhood, while his house is beaming white poltergeist light

Very nice rig!

That's too bad. I actually have a case of Bawls from almost 10 years ago that I've never opened. The stuff was delicious.

The green menu software is from Asus and is Called the ASUS PC ProbeII, version V1.04.86. You can download it from their web site. It's meant to work with the Asus motherboard but may also work for others. (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/ProbeII_V10486.zip)

The other software on the right side of the screen will be familiar to most as Everest's On Screen Display mode,

Nice little writeup and thread you've got going here. Nice setup too.

Thanks a bunch, I'll try them both.
I'm using a Gigabyte board, but the software Gigabyte provides shows very minimal info, can't even find any motherboard temps

I have the original noctua u12p with 1366 conversion kit and it fits on the rampage iii extreme. The mountings of the conversion kit look exactly like the ones you linked to so I'm sure its fine. Only thing is if you mount the fan so the air is directed out the back of the case as you normally would you can't attach the optional fan on the northbridge heatsink. I'm kind of tempted to grab this to remedy the situation: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6...hbridge_Southbridge_Low-Profile_Heatsink.html

This is totally insane, how will this even work without waterblocks on the cards?

I have the SE2 kit and I so want this mobo so damn bad. I really cannot fathom how ASUS could have over looked that. Here's to hoping for a replacement nb heatsink from ASUS.

4-way SLI with GTX 480s. Someone was eventually crazy enough to try it. Your 3dmark Vantage and F@H will surely thank you.
