software that fixes my internets?

So,

for some reason my desktop shits out on the internet all the time.. like 2 to 6 times a day my internet will die on my desktop for like 30 minutes before i can use it again.. i'll open browsers, and it will give me errors like i'm not connected to the net..

mind you.. the internet works fine on all my laptops all the time.. and my Xbox360 and Wii and DS..

something is wrong with this computer.. is there any diagnostic tool out there that can help me with figuring out why my desktop is being such a bitch with the internet?

1 gig RAM
ATI RAdeon 9800 XT

i know.. this machine is dated lol.. but i'm a poor college student...

i think it's more of a windows problem than hardware..
