Software for renaming a bunch of files?

What's the easiest to use software for renaming a bunch (hundreds) of files for Windows?

If it's simple, you can do it in Windows Explorer. Select all the files, right-click, and select rename. Type in the name and the files will be renamed to name (1), name (2), name (3) etc.

For more complex renames you can use the command line. Check out the FOR command.

I 2nd BRU. It's a little scary at first glance (because of all the options available), but once you figure it out, it's great.

I use http://www.advancedrenamer.com/ because I can use it as a portable installation and it is easy to customize the filenames (lots of parameters, even using REGEX).
