I can't seem to find the specs for this cpu anywhere out here.What little i do know is it is 1.6ghz 1.45v,can't find what size cache is on the die or what core it is.

Socket 754 and XP don't go in the same sentence together.

Check the link buzzly posted,xp-m socket 754 is in there.Can't sem to find the 1.45v though.

XP-M is a socket A cpu, not socket 754. Which one is it? Why don't do spell out the CPU code here? Make it easy for people to help you.

It's a socket 754 XP-M.Check the bottom of the page on the link you posted,XP-M in black and white.

The term XP-M ususally means Athlon XP mobile-- a 32-bit processer. That's a socket A CPU. I do know that AMD has produced a small batch for Athlon XP chips fitted for socket 754. I think it was for a large OEM PC manufacturer (may be HP).

Again. Please spell out the CPU code and someone here can help you.
Example: AHN2800BIX3AX

Why in the world would they fit XP chips onto s754? They are incompatible due to the memory controller being on die (s754) vs. on board (socket A). So they would essentially have to make a special motherboard to run their special chips. Makes no sense.

That's just rumor that I've heard from friends working for Compaq a few years back. I don't have first-hand experience with that.

Edit: I think the XP-M "modded" for laptop (more like big heavy laptop) with socket 754 is the AMD Athlon XP-M "Dublin". It was specially made for HP/Compaq laptop back in late 2004 (???)

Maybe it's just that they both run "sempron" chips even though they have completely different architectures.

Somthing like this???

Model : AMD Opteron™ Processor Dublin 2800+
Model Number : 2800 (estimated)
Performance Rating : PR1203 (estimated)
Type : Low Power
Package : FC µPGA754
Multiplier : 4/1x
Minimum/Maximum Multiplier : 4/1x / 8/1x
Generation : G8
Name : MC Athlon 64 (K8 ClawHammer) 90nm 2GHz+ 1.45-1.55V
Revision/Stepping : C / 0 (746)
Stepping Mask : DH7-CG
Core Voltage Rating : 0.950V
Min/Max Core Voltage : 0.950V / 1.450V
Maximum Physical / Virtual Addressing : 40-bit / 32-bit

This XP-M 2800+ is definitely a K8.

Socket 754 for Mobile Processors

Advanced Micro Devices is rumoured to have another 32-bit chip set to come next year for Socket 754 infrastructure, as an Internet web-site reported this weekend. The processor will be made using 0.13 micron technology, but will be aimed mostly at mobile market, it emerged.

Earlier this year we told you some details about AMD’s upcoming “Paris” and “Victoria” Socket 754 desktop CPUs both due to come next year. Reportedly, those microprocessors will not support AMD64 aka x86-64 extensions, even though they will be fully based on K8 micro-architecture, will have integrated PC3200 memory controller, SSE2 support, higher clock-speed and more advanced architecture. However, AMD Athlon XP “Paris” and “Victoria” processors will not be the only AMD’s K8 chips with deprived support for AMD64 instructions. The company will also launch its rather mysterious Athlon XP “Dublin” processor in mid-2004.

The Athlon XP based on Dublin core in Socket 754 package will have 256KB of L2 and will be made using 0.13 micron SOI technology. It is believed that AMD will provide samples of this CPU to its partners sometime in the first quarter next year; the production will begin in late-Q2 or early-Q3. The chip seems to be aimed at mobile market, since it sports PowerNow! technology. What is a bit strange, its power consumption, according to this web-site, will be up to 62W, too lot for a mobile processor, isn’t it? In this case we may assume that the processor is not really for mobile computers, but for cost-effective desktop replacement notebooks. 62W is still lower than today's Mobile Athlon 64 with 1MB L2 processors' 81W.

The AMD Athlon XP “Dublin” chips will emerge in 3000+ and 3200+ model numbers. Pricing in not known at the moment.

Yeah, I don't know...but if it's K8 with 256k L2 cache, it seems like it's a sempron (like the old ones without x64 stuff).

AMD "cross-breeds" all kinds of CPUs as transitional products. Who know??

I have a rev D0 512k 35w mobile s754 Oakville (AMD2800BKX4LB) that isn't widely available in the US. The rev E and halve-cache version became the Mobile Sempron (at least for awhile). BTW, I love that chip.

Anyway, freshmtb: WHAT IS THE CODE?? :p

It is the "secret" Dublin core CPU AMD made for HP for use of larger laptops. Your CPU is pulled from an old HP/Compaq laptop.

AH = Athlon XP-M
N = Power Limit
2800 = Model
B = 754pin Organic Micro Pin Grid Array Lidless
I = 1.4v V core
X = T Base 95 w (??)
2 = 128k cache
AX = Part Definition ( something to do with core revision)

Look like you have a early core,-ver DH7-CG, higher power consumption @ 1.4v, Sempron.

I almost bought the cpu,decided to go with a sempron 2600+

You most likely have made a better choice. CG core is pretty old in the CPU world.
