You need to go and do your research dude!

Oh unless they are lying of course and that would be illegal and false advertising or just a typographical error on their part.

    But lets see.

    Research harder. From MSI's manual
They are PCIe 3.0 x16 SLOTS, but doesn't necessary mean they will all run at x16 speeds. Not really false advertising, but could have been more descriptive.

I am not going to argue. Its simply possible that MSI just has a major typo or they absolutely suck at advertising capability. Either way I am not wrong even if I was not right. Certainly not worthy of being told to stop spreading bullshit by that other member.

I am doing more research because as a purchaser of this board, it really doesn't matter to me, my curiosity is truly sparked.

On another good note I didn't mention, most of the other boards have 8 phase power and this MSI has 13 phases which is going to mean some great stability in the power delivery realm pending the mosfets can be appropriately cooled.

    Really? By your "research" standard Gigabyte x399 have 5 PCI-E 16x ....
Watch that video around 3:28 and you have proof about MSI.

PCI-E is 16x/1x/8x/16x/1x/8x and don't believe any marketing BS, if it is too good to be true...

i enjoy reading the stuff you post but here's a bit more information to help with the research. 1. msi uses 10(8+2) chokes not 13, the taichi/pro gaming use 11(8+3) chokes. 2. just because a slots called 16x doesn't mean it has to support pci-e 3.0 16x bandwidth, it just means it supports pci-e 3.0 and 16x pinned cards. now did they leave out information that might help the consumer make a better purchasing decision? sure since most of the companies do that to try to make their product look better than their competition given that the msi carbon board is over priced and doesn't bring anything to the table that makes it stand out over the taichi/pro gaming. 3. to support multiple m.2 slots and/or u.2 slots the pci-e lanes need to come from some where..

out of all of them though i feel the asus prime board is by far the worst one especially at it's price point.. 3 way sli/cfx.. literally zero information provided about the second pcie slot other than it doesn't support gpu usage and whether or not it's tied to anything that would cause it to become disabled.

You've stated the obvious. And it threw me for a loop. And what makes the rog board better? More expensive bling?

The webpage dedicated to this board Cleary states 13 phases of power. However, 13 phases could simply mean 10 cpu and 3 ram and looking at photos its probably 10 and 3 not 13. More marketing B.S. lol. Oh well I can always return the damn thing. I dont even have a gpu. I could care less right now. It's all a hobby to me anyways.

rog board comes with the separate 10gbps network card + onboard intel NIC, better audio chipset, 802.11ad for wireless VR and a bunch of other things i haven't bothered to look into.. and i was wrong about the zenith it has 8+4 for the cpu. either way the zenith deserves to be priced way above the others. but ultimately it comes down to what features are important to you and what you're willing to pay for.

i don't think the msi board is bad i just think it should of cost less than the taichi even before the rebate on newegg.

Well I got my shipped notification from Amazon so I guess it's on its way. I retracted my critical judgement of them by deleting my post above this one.... for now. Still angry they didn't ship my motherboard. I had to buy another on NEgg. And they won't let me cancel my order on Amazon right now due to some weird reason I had to go to a manager who said they would work on it. Its a bummer because I really wanted the Gigabyte board. I don;t know what some people have against Gigabyte?? I am typing on one now, my mini-ITX with 1700x in it and it's rock solid stable. I had more problems with my Crosshair VI than ever. And I have had more problems with my Rampage IV before that and my 3930K and those were Asus. I have never had an issue with Gigabyte.

Now I am going to give MSI a try after like 5 years of not owning one. And if I get my Gigabyte board I will try that one too and probably sell the MSI, well see how things develop.

Like to find out more about the ASrock board. Any reviews on that yet? Taichi X399 is the only one I saw on Negg. Anyway, let us know how you like " huffing the glue". That's kind of catchy. Lol

I will have to find a freaking cooling solution for this thing once I get it. I will get it fully built minus the cooler so I wont be able to power it on.

I am using my Asetek (thermaltake Water 3.0 240) on my R7-1700x right now which is overkill for this processor. I hear EK is about to drop a block on the market on the 12th (today) possibly? I will order one this week if that is the case but I am 1000% DONE spending money on computers for like the next 5 years and I mean it sigh.

TBH, SLI isnt worth it for the 1080TI at least, maybe Vega and/or nvidia's next GPU will make it relevant, but right now not so much -- I got my Aorus x399 today though, very happy to see the heatpipe on the board as that was one thing I really liked about the Zenith, came with free headphones from newegg and I signed up for the xpedition pack which is some sort of suitcase thing http://event.gigabyte.us/x399promo/XpeditionPack/

I tested it out and added the MSI board while a TR cpu was in the cart, the MSI rang up at 30 off. Remove the cpu and the price jumps back to 360. This is typically how MC has always done board combos.

Got my 1950x and Asus Zenith built today. The system would not post with the 10G Ethernet card in PciE 3.0 x8 (2nd slot). Had to remove it to get system to post with my 2 Titan Xp (both in the 3.0 x16 slots)

I didn't get time to play with it much but I will revisit once 10 is installed and fully patched and drivers to get installed.

Using a Kraken x62 with the bracket AMD includes with the CPU and 128GB of Corsair memory.

I too got my junk. 1950x and MSI board. Going to post the semi final build pic in my other thread I started. The final pic is waiting on the Xspc Raystorm block for the TR which I am holding out for until I overclock. Until then my 2x Thermaltake Riinfg 3.0 will have to suffice
