as the topic said, i got the new PSP for christmas and besides final fantasy crisis core which was given to me. I have no clue what to do with this thing. Any hints guys. i was gonna do the homebrew thing i heard so much for about the psp, but this version apparently is locked down lock a grandmas fist in your ass.

for what it's worth i have a PSP-2000 that I hacked myself, it really isn't hard, just requires you to purchase an extra battery and cut open the battery that came iwht the PSP-2000 and cut a certain circuit on the battery's circuit board.

You also gotta have a Magic Memory stick which is basically you installing a magic memory stick program to your memory stick pro duo
really isn't that hard.

Not even worth that much trouble, just order a tool battery from DealExtreme.
 
No need anymore the 3000 and go have been busted wide open.

What firmware is on it?

You will need to get 6.20 manually use google. There is a HEN for 6.20 to allow homebrew it isnt as good as cfw but the 3001 series is hit or miss on being able to load cfw anyway. It is called total noob 6.20 TN-B. If you want to do cfw it can be put on a 3001 series however be aware you can't use a tool battery on it if something goes wrong. Ideally your psp will have 5.03 but it is new so if your lucky it will have 6.20 or lower. 6.20 is hackable using the total noob hack 5.03 is hackable using ChickHEN.

If you have a psp that cant use a pandora and your over 6.20 your stuck you cant do anything but play ofw there is a 6.35 hack that is going to be released but as of this moment it is not.

Almost all PSP's except the PSP3000 and the psp 2000's with serial number AB02 are able to use a pandora battery.

Humm what ever could you possibly mean i could see making a post about my grammar sentence structure or lack there of but just "good lord" good lord what followed with an ellipse what.

As for any information on how to hack a psp 3000 i need more info and i will pm anyone who is intrested in knowing.

But bricking is harder to fix since it cant be pandoraed.

when i had the option of picking up a 3k or taking the last daxster bundle i took the daxster for the 2000 series...

Well considering the key for PSN on both PS3 and PSP was just hacked and leaves everything wide open.. I would hold onto it and see how things go.

The key being hacked means that code can be signed now ideally it will mean we will be able to run homebrew natively without using an enabler or cfw first.
 
I have an orginal PSP which i need to get out and update. I hacked mine and put homebrew on it as well. Which is really fun and allows you to do some other not so legal things.
 
if it is a 1000 series there is really nothing offered by 6.35 that cant be done in cfw i recomend m33-6 old but works well or GEN 5.50 D3 works well too
 
Hang on to it for a month. The PSP code signing keys have been found and homebrew will work on every single PSP and PS3 soon.
