So can't afford a brand new card. 2080TI for $350 reasonable?

That is one thing with the team green drivers, the layout is so Windows 2000/XP. That is one thing I miss about the AMD drivers, is the nice control panel.
I prefer Nvidia's panel, frankly. Modern ui standards with gaudy sliders and giant flashy colors are annoying for drivers.

Those are all more costly than a 7900XT/XTX which is right around the price of a 4070ti while being about equal in performance to a 4080.
Nah used 3090ti goes for about $700. Also, the 7900XT is nowhere near as good as a 4080 especially when using raytracing and Dlss. Add in frame gen on some demanding games and it's game over.

xt/xtx is not comparable to 4080, 20-30% difference, $200 difference justified

I'm still rocking my 980 ti it's not the best but it works
I had this and jumped to the 1080TI...But still seem to have the itch to move up. Just do not see a viable option that makes sense money wise.

4070 12GB is at 600 euros in Europe. 2080 Ti performance is not even close to that card. I probably would prefer a new 3060 12GB to a used 2080Ti for the same price.

Why? The 2080 ti has quite a bit more performance than a 3060. 1gb extra memory won't change much either.

Bro 4070 is only 25% faster than the 2080ti, or 15-20% when both GPUs are OCed.
2080ti is 50% faster than the 3060.
3060 can't even beat 2070S.

Depends on what you're doing. RT and tensors are better compared to CUDA cores on RTX 3000 series and way better on 4000 series. So if you only compare CUDA, you're right. Also because of the tensors, DLSS is better on RTX 3000 and even better on RTX 4000 series, so this is has to be multiplied with how much better RT and tensors are for the rest. If you're using RT with 4K with DLSS last gen, the 3060 may compare to the 2080Ti and the 4070 may beat it by a wide margin.
If you use Blender with Optics, it would be also interesting to see the results. My bet is 3060 is close to the 2080Ti and the 4070 is way faster.
Also consider that a graphics card doesn't last forever when you use it as kind of does a CPU, so when it is used, and you may not know how much it is, you may lose a lot of value. Also if it has glitches or some problems it may be difficult to return it, on the contrary to a brand new one.
