There's a huge unknown here. You can support HDMI 2.1 without supporting HDMI 2.1 VRR.
Nvidia has a conflict of interest and motivation to protect their G-Sync module business. AMD doesn't.
If AMD supports HDMI 2.1 VRR and Nvidia doesn't, that's a pretty massive advantage IMO.
