47GB of notification emails? How big are Twitter email notifications? Think about how many it must have taken in order to eat up almost 50GB of hard drive space. :eek:

What happens when one of the most wanted men in the world joins Twitter and forgets to disable email notifications? 47GB of emails. As you might expect, Edward Snowden was immediately inundated with followers, replies, favorites, DMs and retweets -- all of which came with individual alerts to the NSA whistleblower's email account.
 
Dude has definitely taken twitter by storm. Funny how the only account he follows is NSA.
 
With an average e-mail size of 75KB (average e-mail size from random google search) that's like 62.6M e-mails :eek:

That does seem high, but he was getting a notification anytime he was followed, favorited or someone put @snowden in a message.
 
Half of them are death threats and the other half wants to have his babies.
 
And thus the NSA know what twitter users to add to it's higher priority profiling database.
