Paypal/Ebay have pretty good buyer protection. Might be worth a shot? ~ 90 available as of this writing.

That is what paypal buyer protection is for, right?

If it is a crypto place gone out of business with tons of these, I could see wanting to dump them before NAVI.

I hope for the best, it just seems like a crypto place would know what the cards were actually worth. That and having only 2 positive reviews, 1 of which translates to "Goods not delivered"

They had an auction for 100 yesterday & the dissapeared. New auction today.

Imagine if you have like 10k of these to sell, would you list them at $450 ? I wouldn't.

With that being said $350 would probably sell as fast as $290...

If they do ship, it is a great deal. If not, should be pretty easy to get money back so no huge risk I guess. Just may have some funds held up for a week or a month at worst case.

I mean the picture that the linustechtips forum user noted was unique to this listing does have 2x8pin power connections and the non-Ti has a 6-pin and an 8-pin. Just something about a 1080Ti at 1080 pricing seems suspicious. Sounds like they ship once a week and everything goes out on Saturday, so we won't know for sure what people are getting until next week.

Sounds like this guy needs a loan for $100,000 for 1 week so he is stalling the paypal claims for 1 week then refunding money

With paypal's new policy that wouldn't be smart, apparently they now keep the 2.9% transaction fee on returns

This doesn't work anymore. I started selling on ebay in 2017 and they held all transactions until delivery and some, it took weeks before any money was available for use in my paypal.

Also, if this is coming from a mining operation, why is the picture a single card and not a rack full of 10s of them? Why so low res?

Ok.. looks like a total scam to me.

    1. User info says they are based in Netherlands.
    2. Item location says Brooklyn, New York
    3. Language is definitely very broken English.. looks exactly like what I would expect from a Chinese person that doesn't know English very well at all.
    4. Free worldwide shipping according to the listing.
    5. Only item they have for sale.
    6. Seller only has 2 feedback in the last 12 months.

So obviously fake it's not worth a second thought. No one undercuts the average selling price this drastically right from the start.

I concur. Anyone selling 45 of something in 24 hours and not raising the price as well is a red flag. They want these SOLD and PAID before ebay takes the listing down.

then you have enough transactions or an old enough account they they trust you basically. When you start out, the only funds that are unfrozen until delivery are shipping costs (only available when paying postage through ebay site).

Netherlands is the HQ company location. NY is a satellite office. Looks like a legit firesale. Bought one. Paypal also lists the transaction as the same business name. Good bye RTX 2070

Yep. I created my account I think around 2010 (always used a relatives before that) but I only bought things. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I started selling and it did the holds. Don't quote me but I think it was my first 10? 15? 25? sales. I'm pretty sure I couldn't even touch the shipping money until a week or two after the item was delivered - to give the buyer ample time to complain.

edit: Found this on a post from 2012

The seller definitely falls into a couple of these (less than 100 feedbacks, fewer than 20 seller ratings, suddenly selling expensive items / large numbers, electronics.. etc. No way the money will get released to him/her.

Guys biggest probem- this is one person who sold 100 cards per day for 2 days.

I hav e trouble boxing up 5 sales per day, If i make a big FS/T thread or soemthing. it takes all fucking day to track day the packing slips, weight it, do all the shit.

This guy says he goes to the facility 1 time a week and hes gonna box 700 cards in 1 day or whatever? Its just a total scam

There is so much work in boxing 10 GPU for idvidual shipment and mailing them per day nevermind 100

You are assuming he is a one man operation when the item description mentions several "We" and mentions "Company". Scam or not, I'm going to say he is not a one man operation.

As someone who has never bid on potential eBay scams, I think this one might be legit for the following reason. IF they use a datacenter or rented space I know how timelines and lease contracts ending affect sales of gear. Having done of a few decomm's due to expiring leases I've let go of awesome gear for pretty cheap. $290 is a price where they can still recoup some of the cost without the risk of leftover gear. Something about being in the $200 range made all 100 today sell super quick. Magic number hits $300 then they don't fly off the shelf as quick I think. As several have stated PayPal will hold funds for non reputable sellers for whatever reason. Buyer's benefit. As far as shipping the items out, there is a solid chance many are already packed and ready to go. I dunno. I'm being optimistic because I bit but I don't think this deal is totally unrealistic. I hope I'm right.

Come on the ebay post is not even written in proper English. They did a decent job trying but the tell tale signs are there "we going at the facility everyday" "you waiting one week extra" and lets not forget the urgency in the post, you have to buy now or they can't ship until next week.

I must say this is a pretty good scam idea, but they need to leave out all the things I mentioned and maybe I would even fall for it.

Get a refund now if you ordered and save yourself some time.
