Silverstone Sugo SG13 Mini-ITX

I can confirm that the MSI GTX970 Gaming I purchased a week or so ago fits with no modifications into my SG13B with a mesh front. The end of the card protrudes past the frame of the chassis but you can still put the front of the case on without needing to force it.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you buy yours from? Do you know if yours is the longer version? I don't want to have all my parts and find out my graphics card doesn't fit

Is the front panel doing a good job of filtering dust? I know there's a dust filter on the non-Q version, but the sides of the front only has some mesh, through which I think dust can be sucked in.

I wasn't aware that there was a longer version? I bought mine from Scan and have just bought another one as of yesterday so I can mod the original one with a 140cm fan and a sound card. BTW be very careful with the wires for the power and reset buttons - most of mine broke away from the switches when messing around with the front panel off.

But i read the warnings :( It's like... breathing on it takes it clean off!

I put some silicon goop on the power switch wires as a precaution, i'd solder, but don't have a soldering iron on me.

Wait, those cables are soldered directly to the PCB without any additional method of securing? Not even a dip of glue or something?

anyone tried to put MSI 970 100ME into the SG13? Will it fit? Is it the same width as 970 gaming from MSI? Manufacturer page says it is, but as everyone knows here there are two models of 970 gaming with different widths.

16 months ago I built an SG05 with MSI 770.
It was a huge success!

If I was building today I'm sure I'd be getting SG13 +MSI 970 and scouring this thread to see if my card fit.
I love MSI because their twin frozr designs seem quieter.
I'm rather tempted to try it now. :)

Hi guys, just bought a SG13 for my new build, waiting for Amazon Prime Day 7/15 to fill it with hardware. Meanwhile, I added a 140mm fan in front, I'll post some photos of the build as soon as I can.

Yes, only 3 holes for 140mm fan. If you ask me, the front cut out is quite weird.

Could you share your wishlist of parts?
Curious what video card, motherboard CPU etc.. you are thinking of putting in it.

I'm planning to put :

Asus H81I-Plus MITX
Intel Core i3-4170
GTX 960 STIX
1x8gb DDR3 (in the future add a second module reaching a total of 16gb)
Intenso SSD 128gb
Big Shuriken 2 with reversed fan blowing into my actual psu
Seasonic Fanless 400W

I've never been into purchasing latest items, but always looking for the best items i can afford without sacrificing the wallet

Ok, so let's start the build:
Here is my SG13, with the front 140mm fan already mounted:

The fan is a 140mm Revoltec AirGuard:

This is the mobo (Asus H81IPlus) with the Big Shuriken backplate mounted:

That's the shuriken with the LGA1150 plate mounted (I reversed the fan):

Some cable fitting from the top (sorry for my feet):

and from the side, where you can see the low profile DDR3:

Still waiting for my 960 Strix, so empty PCI-E :(

First booting test, with fanless PSU out of the case:

IT WORKS! It has the 2201 BIOS that works with the i3-4160:

Fitting the PSU with cable hell (it's a 150mm PSU so I had to remove the HDD cage):

Top view:

Side view:

I need to paint that plate BLACK!

The GTX 960 STRIX arrived! Finally!

Added a second SDD Samsung 840 from my old system, put on top of the SanDisk that is screwed on the bottom of the case

put rubber feet on it

Very cool! I was waiting so long for someone to do this. Have you tested it inside the case yet? What about thermals on the PSU?

They seem quite good to me for now, waiting for the 960 STRIX for a full test
With the arrival of the GTX 960 STRIX I can make some tests, I had to reverse the PSU cause it was too hot.
Now the mesh of the psu is up where it should be, but the cpu reversed fan no longer blows air through the psu.
This way everything seems a little cooler

Just made a stress test with Prime95 and GpuTest

CPU and GPU they reach 68°C after some minutes
a thermometer close to PSU says 45°C

I guess in that small space air circulation can be an issue :(

sounds good to me.

I keep all my fan profiles on low speed and I hit ~80c during 100% cpu load.

Seems that your cooling design has some flaws. No matter how you set your fans, they will never operate efficently. You need AIO LC solution for proper operation with this case.

I know that it's designed with AIO LC in mind, but this doesn't mean that someone can't achieve good performance with air cooling. Maybe I can't afford liquid cooling or I don't want the hassle of its maintenance. My rig now runs latest games perfectly even if it gets a little hot. It's not perfection but good enough for me.

I've been out of the loop for a while, but am happy to see this case exists! I am going to move my build into this case soon along with a Corsair H60.

I picked up one of these in Nov 2015 and it came with the newer power/reset button PCB that uses a crimp connector for the wires as opposed to the direct solder job from the earlier version.

Aside from that, it's as cheaply constructed as everyone on the internet says.

The steel cover is thin and pressing down on the top with the slightest bit of pressure causes it to flex inward and bounce back as soon as I release. (The GPU side seems suseptible too) So it's not flat after the hole punch?

Three out of the four screw holes on the back of the cover line up with the ones on the steel frame... the one on the lower right, GPU side, doesn't. That particular screw had a tougher time coming out and the threads were a bit worked over.

Getting the shroud off (and back on) was a bit of a bear.

I took the front panel off to look at the power/reset button panel to determine if it was fixed and then I put it back. I noticed the section of the front panel held in place by the lower screw on the GPU side had a bit of give where the panel was able to freely move left (in) and right (out) by a few fractions of a mm. The other 3 screws holding the front panel had no such issue.

When I put the shroud back on, I noticed that the edge along that side of the case where it met the front panel wasn't a clean straight edge (the other side was clean) and seemed to be applying pressure on that spot. I could see some discoloration of the front panel there which tells me the plastic was worn.

For the $40 price I paid for it, the SG13 is alright. Would I buy it again after a close examination? Probably not.

I finally got everything installed in this case. Using the NH-L9x65 and SF450 via Silverstone PP-08 adapter plate gives about 19mm of clearance for the PSU and CPU cooler. A switch to a regular 25mm thick fan won't be a problem.

I would absolutely love to see pictures of that. Planning to build one myself with that psu, and either the NH-L9x65 or maybe if possible the BeQuiet Shadow Rock LP with fans blowing up to the psu (if it fits) or maybe replace the fan with a slimmer one if necessary.

Do you know how much space there is between the cpu and the backplate? Don't know if it would be possible to fit Corsair Vengeance Ram with that cooler.

Got mine turned on it's right side (cpu at bottom) with four little feet under each corner, there's a good half inch space for air flow and it seems to be keeping my stock 4590 about 5-8c cooler on average that way.

What sort of CPU cooler do you use? Liquid or air?

<\gosh the fucking layout of that fucking website is so fucking annoying, i cant even single out what annoys me the most>

There you go, closed that tag for you (y) But yeah, after getting used to XenForo-based forums, the one of OCN or the older vBulletin-based ones are so damn annoying.

I don't understand the question. How would the CPU and backplate interfere with RAM? Which backplate is this? The cooler complies with the Intel spec for the keep-away zone so the RAM sticks have a cool couple of mm clearance from the CPU heatsink. There is no overhang from the fan.

maverikv - Does the GTX 1080 fit? Looks like the front panel is not fully installed.

It fits, I just hadn't screwed it in yet when I took the pic. I had a MSI gaming 989ti 6g in there which was about a quarter of an inch longer and everything still closed up.
