Was looking at getting a 1tb SSD and Amazon has the Silicon Power 1TB SSD on sale for $110. Is it worth the price or should I spend the extra $25 and get a Crucial MX500. I have never heard of Silicon Power before but it has pretty good reviews. I'm on a really tight budget but don't want to buy junk either.

I'd pay the extra $25 and avoid the worry personally.

It's something you intend to use and rely on, right?

I've run a silicon power drive for a couple years now, although not the 1 TB and possibly not that exact model (I'd have to go look). I don't think it's junk.

I've used this brand as well. For a basic ssd I had no problems. I wouldn't call it junk. It is priced accordingly and I wouldn't expect an early failure from it, just perhaps not quite as fast as the top brands.

Was gonna pull the trigger on this the other day but opted to go with the Crucial MX500 just like you saw.

Simply because of the name brand
