Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Yes it's the Digital Signage series. So far I have only had it for two days, and so far it looks amazing to me at this distance. No problems at all. I thought I would have issues with being only 3ft away but so far good. Haven't had much of a chance to game on it to test the input lag but I'm not super sensitive to it anyway. The black levels are also very good and almost no backlight bleeding, just a little in the bottom left corner but its only about 1/2".

Looks like its only 55ppi as you would expect, and a pva panel. To each his own, but that is not my thing for at desk distances both for the ppi and the physical size. . I had a 37" 1080p westinghouse at one point and found it annoyingly eye-bending to the periphery after the "wow" size factor wore off. You are using it at 3' which is a little further than most people at least. 40" prob makes a good video playback display at four to six feet away where the ppi would look smaller from that perspective and the whole monitor would fit inside your direct gaze/focus better. As a desktop and/or gaming monitor at desk distances I would avoid it personally. I ended up putting my 37" 1080p back around 4' on a pillar stand before I eventually sold it long ago. I'd prob keep the 27" as my main and dedicate the 40" to video personally, but the 27" samsung is also a VA panel and known for having bad input lag.

VA usually have very good (for LCD) black levels which is good for movies, and colors are quite good being somewhere between tn and an ips but in games usually suffer from ghosting/streaking. Most suffer from input lag - some very badly, but with a few exceptions (I also avoid any screens with scalers which add more lag). So in general VA aren't a good choice for gaming imo. I love my 46" samsung VA 1080p TV for HD video material in my living room though, at 8 feet away from my eyeballs generally.

As far as I know my Samsung 275t uses a S-PVA screen and has a input lag of about 30ms. It's not great but I have never noticed it when playing BF2 for years. Now I'm not really gaming much. Mostly web, some Photoshop, and video encoding, but I do watch most of my TV in this room. I got rid of my 32" Sony XBR I was using. As you said to each his own, so far it's great but that could change later.

My custom built desk. Made of 1.5" aluminum tubing. Plexi keyboard drawer, glass top. Monitors are 21.5" samsung 205bw, 27" Dell Ultra Sharp U2711, and a Dell 21.5". Last picture is the rendering done in solidworks. Still a little bit to be done, I have a new glass top on order and some wire management.

Quality.

Curious, why do you use 4 different mice?

There are actually 6 mice hidden in the picture. :)

The Performance MX (KB drawer on modded rat pad) is my daily driver, back up is the Razr Mamba (left most on ratpad on desk). There is a RAT9 over to the left which I wasn't thrilled with. The blue MS mouse is for my laptop (still working on the laptop stand attachment) and the white logitech is for the hackintosh (left computer). I typically use Synergy to go between computers, but if I am gaming it's a pain so I like to have backups. Laser MX is on hackintosh and it came with keyboard...its a backup to the backups backup.

Those values were obtained using inaccurate methods. I was put off of getting a 305t years ago because of the reported delay, which turns out was wrong.

Because the Samsungs use scaling features they likely have around 18ms of input lag (like the current displays with scaling which were accurately tested have) which is only noticeable for some one with extensive experience with a CRT or a lag free display.

Thanks for the correction. I never noticed it my self but like I said I don't think I am as sensitive to it. What screens are those in your pics?

My work. Just got a planar mount for my Asus 24" panels, trying out portrait.

I just got a new desk, chair, and Ergotron arm for my second display at home, will post pictures of that soon :)

how did you get a windows icon on the bottom left corner on each monitor, i didn't think this was possible?

also is that an extra taskbar on the left monitor just above the main one?

im using ultramon(3 monitors) atm and it is really annoying searching for the pdfs I have scattered everywhere with dexpot!

what program you using bro? cheers

Display Fusion adds the option for the taskbar on multiple monitors. It also is awesome for lining up dual wallpapers. It has all kinds of features that I do not use, highly recommended.

The little icons above my big icons is a folder I have a bunch of shotcuts in. If you right click on the taskbar, go to Toolbars -> New Toolbar, you can choose any folder containing shortcuts.

Does display fusion work with Eyefinity enabled? Getting tired of everything being on the very far left.

@yurdun: you make me want to go back to my old setup. But I'm very close to having something similar.

Corydoras you have to host your photos on a website like photobucket, imageshack, etc. and then post them here.
