How does this fare in terms of gaming? and what mount are you using?

Nice setup TechnoTherapist! What's the resoulution of those monitors. I'd love to have those suckers drive 3D, that would be sweet!

You office reminds me of mine, except yours is MUCH neater and no 10 monitors!

I'll get you some pics of my mounts tomorrow. The center monitor is sitting on my vintage 80s AIWA amplifier and tuner and so only the side monitors are held up by LCD arms. I'm using Flex-PM168 mounts which are amazingly good for only $28 shipped each. but I haven't seen them in stock anywhere for some time now. If I had to pay nearly $100 per mount, Eyefinity would not have been worth it at all so I'm glad I found these. The total cost was about $600 (for all three 25" monitors together) + $60 for mounts. To think I bought a single 19" LCD monitor in 2002 for $1100. How much that pains me.

They are fantastic in gaming but triple 25" monitors results in a span that takes up more than my entire desk and my peripheral vision. The HP 2509's have a thicker bezel but fortunately, they are beveled in the back so it's possible to tuck the two side monitors behind the main monitor which effectively cuts the bezel thickness in half. This is how I would recommend you use them but you do need an articulated adjustable LCD mount to be able to angle them correctly. In response to your PM, no, the guy on Youtube is not me. I would never use them like the guy on Youtube does with them on the stock stands and with giant gaps and both bezels inbetween each. For monitors that only cost $200 for me, I'm pretty happy with them. One of them makes a slight buzzing sound when I put it on text (dimming) mode which is annoying me. I might try to exchange it but I bought these in September.

Here is mine. My next purchase is a 30in LCD. Once installed it will give a 3D wrap-around kind of look. Looking forward to that!

Thank you for the video. Where did you buy your desks? How much did they cost you?

http://www.ifurn.com/search/term/searchterm/bush+mocha+cherry/

That's the cheapest place I could find that still had decent reviews. They were absolutely awesome to buy from. I didn't order everything all at once, but over the course of 3 months. FedEx misdelivered $1000 worth of stuff on the last delivery, leaving it outside, in the rain, then the people they delivered it to refused to admit that anything was delivered. I recorded FedEx admitting that they misdelivered them, emailed that to IFurn, and they over-nighted the order to me again, straight from the factory, at no extra charge.

The furniture itself isn't cheap, but it's worth it. Just the top of one of my 72" desks weighs right at 100lbs. Solidly built with a good warranty.

Still want to hide those two pesky cords coming out the monitor, I am thinking white cable sleeving to the corner and then straight down.

Edit: Also, looking for a good mousepad.

What desk is that ? Been looking to buy something that long, but I think I'll end up doing one myself.

Edit: Also, it it solid wood ?

I built it myself, it is a 4x8 - 3/4" thick board of oak. I had it cut down to 3x8. It is huge and I love it! I wouldn't have been able to buy that anywhere I don't think, or if I could, not at the price I built it at.

Here is another picture (please ignore the cords). Also, sorry for the picture quality.

Here's mine. I'll post a more detailed one with my entire setup soon. I have the display types/names noted on flickr.

That LCD arm looks lethal. What's it called? I've been looking for an arm that could hold my 30" monitor.

GeForce GT 210 videocard? we have the same ones :)

Love the setup, btw ;)

Well let me tell you about that video card; it's crap! It hasn't been 6 months since I've bought it and the DVI output is already dying (displays flashing/scrolling red when used).

I was looking for another card anyway because I wanted to connect all my 3 monitors to a single card. Right now, I'm connecting two to the GT210 and 1 to a Diamond USB video card (try watching video on the latter one and your computer will request a mercy kill :) )

LX Desk Mount LCD Arm by Ergotron. It is the best monitor arm I have ever used and joints are very smooth so it is easy to move around.

hmm.. mine has been working ok so far *touch wood* :)

I hope this will show up, first time I use Google to host my picture, anyways this is nice and works great. Only problems I'm having issues with is that it doesn't remember where the monitors are every time I reboot.

How, exactly, does one "ditch" an Eyefinity setup? Seriously, that's like 3 monitors to get rid of!

I was getting fed up with constantly tweaking all my games to run it, as if I don't have to do that enough with one monitor. I had a friend that, at the time, wanted an eyefinity setup. He always adored mine and I gave him the opportunity to purchase mine for $475.
(3x Asus 24" LED 2ms monitors, the active DVI to Display-port adapter for the 3rd monitor, 3x 10ft DVI to DVI Monster cables.)

You could have just pressed Windows Key + P and switched to single monitor/projector or extended mode and ran the game on a single monitor and then Windows Key + P to Duplicate mode which will bring Eyefinity right back instantly.

Really? I thought they would've made Eyefinity a much smoother experience by now. I mean, just have the drivers simulate a single extra-wide monitor, so games don't even know that it's 3 monitors to begin with?

Or did you mean dealing with FOV and HUD issues in games due to the super wide aspect ratio?

It's good you had a friend who you could sell it to, and he would enjoy it also. I'd probably just be stuck with 3 monitors forever.

Eyefinity works fine and the operating system sees it as one extra wide monitor.

The problem is still game support. Tons of PC games still come out without native Eyefinity/NV Surround support. Most triple monitor users still rely on the work at Widescreen Gaming Forum and other hacks to get a lot of current A list games to work properly with the right HUD, FOV, or just plain get them to work at all. Developers just don't seem to care about multimonitor gaming for the most part or they are too lazy porting from console to bother.

I see, that's a shame. You'd think they'd catch on by now. It's not that hard to add proper aspect ratio support, considering the entire effort of creating a game.

Lets not forget about the performance hit when playing already-not-so-optimized console ports. Either play 5760x1080 with medium/high settings with 2x or no AA , or play 1920x1080 Max details with 4x or 8x AA with no HUD or FOV issues. To each his own.
