Should i get this 7900Gt?

Well...i have Asus 6600GT...been using for about a year, its been serving me real good...but since i got Dell 24" lcd...it started to show some weakness

and i am selling the 6600gt to get this:

i want to get this and use it until the new line of cards come up and hopefully in a year or so i will put together a new system that would be 64-bit, DX-10 and all that goodness

I play a lot of games and i dont enjoy them because 6600 is weak, for example, i bought FarCry today, and and the whole day i been trying to fix this but it wont work, it shows parts of the grass all black :(

But is that a good card to get?
 
I had the same problems with missing grass on my 6600gt in FarCry, but after using drivercleaner and installing latest forceware driver it was all good.

and yes its a great card, what are your system specs?
 
P4 3.4
Asus 925x Primium
2GB DDR2
Antec 480W
etc

My friend says he might be able to get me a Ati x1900XTX 512MB for around $250-$300
I always hated and hate ati, but if it works out i will definatly get it and give ati a try.
 
I say get what you want.


If the superclocked version has problems, just return it to newegg for a RMA.

did you install all the game patches for Far Cry??
