Should I flash my bios on 9500 mod?

I have successfully modded an ATI 9500 128MB to an ATI 9700 with no artifacts. I was wondering, if I flashed the bios, would default ATI drivers recognize it as an ATI 9700 instead of a 9500? This way, I could use it on Linux and it would be detected as a 9700, or WinXP 64 with the same results. Also, I didn't know if it might increase the voltage to my RAM a little bit, as my infineon ram really sucks, it won't even run at the 300MHz. it was intended to run at with its ns rating on the individual chips. Thanks for any help guys,

Ok thanks man, I guess I shall not attempt the BIOS flash, b/c I definitely don't want to try to Sauter that little resistor and stuff like that. Thanks for the link though,
