Sharing files and printer over college Wi-Fi

my roommate has a G5 iMac running Tiger, i'm running XP Pro.

the college has WiFi, we are trying to share a printer hooked to my computer. if possible, we would like to share files between just us. preferably over a direct LAN connection, so my harddrive isn't churning all night, sharing files with the whole campus. thanks [H]ard guys.

Setup a share with NTFS permissions to only certain local user accounts. Therefore when you first connect you can type in the password and have access. Everyone else will not know the password/userid and you can monitor who tries to access it if you so desire.

Well that's the XP way, I'm sure you can do something similar with a Mac. Sry, I'm no Mac expert but it can't be that hard to find. Make sure you have the right client protocols setup for sharing btwn the systems.
