Hello everyone!

At the very beginning of my thread, I must apologize to you that my english is not very good because I am a Chinese User of NCASE M1, actually I never thought to build a SFF System until I met the NCASE M1 on a Chinese Hardware Lover's Forum, and I thought this case is AMAZING! So since the last two months I've been planning to build an ITX PC, then I found this forum through Google, and viewed lots of thread about NCASE build. Finally I finished my NCASE M1 build in last few days, I can't wait to share with you my NCASE M1 build.

I. Parts
  • CPU: Intel i7 6700K
  • MotherBoard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT Z170
  • Graphics Card: ASUS ROG STRIX GTX1070 O8G GAMING
  • Memory: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB (16GBx2) 3000MHz C15
  • PSU: CORSAIR SF600
  • Hard Drive: Intel 750 2.5'' SSD + WD 2.5'' 1TB Black
  • Case: NCASE M1 V5.0 (No ODD Slot)
  • CPU Cooler: CORSAIR H100i v2
  • Fans: Noctua NF-F12 x 2 (Replace the H100i v2 original fan), Noctua NF-A9x14 (Case back air inlet), SilverStone SST-FW121 x 2 (Case bottom air inlet)
These are my parts list, when I clicked the "Buy Now" button of STRIX GTX1070 O8G GAMING, I forgot to check the size can or cannot fit NCASE M1, According to THIS IMAGE from official website, the STRIX GTX1070 O8G GAMING is cannot fit NCASE M1 because the size is 298 x 134 x 40mm, and the image says the Maximum height of card is 111mm when card length over 292mm, so I was worried it wouldn't fit until I found a NCASE build whith STRIX 1080 on Reddit. Yes! it will fit!!

II. Assemble

1. Inside look

You can see the STRIX 1070 fits in the NCASE M1 and Almost no extra space, so it's very difficult to install the STRIX 1070, if you do that, you must be very carefully.

Up look, the H100i v2's pipes are very thick and hard, I had to try more installation location of the block to put the radiator into the case.
2. Assembled

Looks great huh? I replaced the screws with inner hexagon screws and red washer for nice looking.

Also replaced the back screws.

3. Prop up the Graphics Card

fyPQpxA.jpg

Because the STRIX 1070 is very long and heavy, I thought I should use something to prop it up, but I didn't found any product fits this case and card, so I made a strut by myself with screw, washer and nut, put it between the card and bottom fan, looks not bad huh? :)

4. Dust Filter

r4N3eik.jpg

I added dust filter at every air inlet, the case top and right side(mother board back side) filter I used the DemciFilter which a filter maker from South Africa, top filter is good, but there was a problem of side filter-----it's too thick to fit the case, I can't close the side chasis cover if I use this filter, so I abandoned the side filter and fix it, use the 3M double side tape to put it on the PSU air inlet.

There also had a problem with back 90mm fan, I can't find a perfect 90mm filter for it, so I DIY a filter, guess what the
materials? It's a silk stocking! Ha!

III. Desktop

I used a suspension bracket to place the NCASE M1, and put the Wi-Fi moving antennas on the bracket.

And this is my desk view.

That's all, this is my NCASE M1 build. Thank you for browsing this thread, have a nice day!

nice build and I like that screw/strut idea! I haven't seen that stocking trick in a loooong time either, nice! you should post some benchmarks and temps for others to compare. I know a lot of people would appreciate that.

I must apologize to you that my english is not very good because I am a Chinese User
its better than half the English speakers around here! :D

Update some benchmarks result of 3DMark.

This is Fire Strike score.

And Fire Strike Ultra score.

About the temperature:
The max temperature of GPU when running 3DMark is about 75-76°C, this temp looks a little higher than I expected, but it's ok because I OC the GPU clock, Memory clock and GPU voltage to maximum value, the temp will be lower than now if I set GPU to Gaming Mode or OC Mode in daily use.

I OC the CPU to 4.5GHz, the core voltage is about 1.23-1.25v, not bad, and the CPU max temp when running Prime95 is about 67-69°C, I don't think the H100i v2 cannot hold the temp, I think it's because the 6700K use silicone grease between the core and lid, so I'm going to use the liquid metal replace the silicone grease in CPU and test the temp again.

Hey this looks great! Any chance you can link us the red washers and hexagon screws you used for the nice looking? I love it long time!

I think its those: Premium Glossy Aluminum Alloy Countersunk Washer 11 Colors (M3 M4 M5)

Personall, i think the build looks really nice. I have a black M1 v2 myself, and whenever i see a nice silver build, i sometimes think of getting another one just to have both....
I just dont like the noctua fans, even though they are technically some of the best fans out there. They simply ruin the aesthetics of 95% of the builds they're used in. I personally would have went with something else just for the looks :)

Sorry dude, I bought the washers and screws from taobao.com(a Chinese online store) because I live in China. But I can show you the EBay links of same products. Washer and Screws.

LOL yes I think so, the color of Noctua fans not enough "cool" for build, but sometimes you must make choice between the appearance and performance right?

Yes, the traditional Brown/Beige color scheme does not aesthetically match many DIY Builds.
There are options, for SOME of their fan models.

Noctua offers the Redux Line (Black/Gray) in their popular models.
I use this model for aesthetic builds.
