Early Benchmarks:

Been benchmarking them on standard clock speeds to test an i7 system with my 920 against a Core 2 Quad 9550, flatmate want's to see if the i7 is worth the upgrade or not.
i7 is on Asus P6T while QC 9550 is on Asus x48 board. (test on my i7 are @ 1920 and 1650 because QC system only has 1650 )

FarCry2: (8 * AA ultra quality)

i7 1920 max 124fps ave 82fps
1650 max 148fps ave 98fps

c2q 1650 max 110fps ave 78fps

World in Conflict: (Max settings 16*AA)

i7 1920 max 219fps ave 76fps
1650 max 211fps ave 81fps

c2q 1650 max 140fps ave 53fps

3dmark 2006 (default 1024 run)
i7 20062
c2q 16868

Guess my flatmates getting the i7 this weekend, i'm hanging onto one 5870 for now, seems to push close to my 4870 * 2 waiting for either a 5870x2 or a GT300. Either way really impressed with the 5870, crysis still seems to suck though but ARMA2 is better, will see how Operation Flashpoint goes :)

Mine are still sitting in there boxes. Just got home from work. Haven't installed them yet but they do look nice

Just a quick question: My info says Dirt2 isn't released for PC yet. How is DirT2 available when you buy the card? Is it a disc with the actual game? or is it some kind of voucher? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just a voucher.

Forgot to say, very nice pictures!
Wish I had the disposable income for just one of those suckers. I just can't justify upgrading my 4890 at 1680x1050, even though it was purchased as a stop gap to tide me over for the new DX11 cards.

Quick question for you though;
Would the reason you see the huge increased performance with the i7 is because you're overclocking it to 3.99Ghz?

I think that Crysis runs a lot better with my 5870, with 8xAA all in game setting very high, res is 1920x1080 I get 30 fps to high 40s, sometime low 50s.
Hopefully when I get my 2nd today it will get even better.

BTW card is at 900/1300

Dirt2 is a steam code, gets added to my steam games and is unavailable until the 11th Dec , the benchies where done on stock clocks for both setups, i7 just seems to be alot stronger with the 5870 clock for clock then the Core2Quad, when benching 4870 * 2 on same rigs difference was much less. These are big cards can confirm they fitted in my HAF932 and fitted into a Antec900 if you don't mind losing a few hard drive bays :).

Resident Evil 5 Benchmarks (8XAA) max in game quality

i7 Crossfire ave fps 130.9fps max 154.4fps Area3 97.4 (1920)
c2q Crossfire ave fps 104.3fps max 114.6 Area3 72.6fps (1650)

Single 5870 on i7 ave fps 68.9fps max 77fps(1920)

Crysis Warhead is playable on Gamer for a single card, was able to switch between 2X and 4X AA without much loss on some levels (3-5fps difference). Enthusiast level still kills Crossfire setup to low 20's so no Crysis is not maxed yet.

Have you tried overclocking your 5870's yet? What's the highest gameable stable OC you can get? Are your benchmarks of the 5870 at OC or at stock? Any flicker issues when overclocking?

PS The 5870 itself is sexy except for that ugly as sin sticker! LOL @ sapphire dred chick. Let's see the Crossfire benchies!

all benchies at stock atm, will try some overclocking today :) Earlier benchies i posted are crossfire :) And i guess i'm a lucky bastard getting 3 of only 10 cards that where in stock hehe
