Server migrated to new domain. Client's connections keep dropping

About 3 weeks ago we migrated all of our users from one AD domain server to another pre-existing server. 2 Weeks ago we migrated our file/print server to that same domain.

Ever since we migrated the file & printer server, users randomly lose their connection to the print queues. The only way to get them working again is by connecting to the server via IP address rather than host name. The computers can't even see the server with the current FQDN - only by the IP address.

Has anyone had an issue like this after a migration?

All client machines are running Win 7 x64, and the server in question is running Server 2k8 R2.

Sooo...

What happens when they reboot? It starts working again? You said "users randomly lose their connection to the print queues." does that mean they randomly gain connections also? Do they randomly loose it when it's IP based or only domain based?

Did you verify the DNS server? Does /flushdns resolve anything?

Did you check for GPOs or scripts?

"migrated all of our users from one AD domain server to another pre-existing server"

--what 'moved' from one server to the other?

" 2 Weeks ago we migrated our file/print server to that same domain"
--moved file/print between domains or servers in the same domain?

When a client starts experiencing issues, does the fqdn even resolve to an IP?

The randomness suggests GPO or DNS issues, taken with everything else, DNS is the most likely suspect. So start at the bottom and work up.
