sendmail relay to postfix server question?

Question to ask is there anyway to get sendmail relay to postfix server or not?

Are they separate servers?

Can you provide a few more details on what you're trying to achieve and why?

Yes they are on separate servers one is an true mail server running postfix and other one is PIAF (PBX in a Flash) that is running sendmail and all the PIAF is doing sending email in case there is an vm that can be delivered to an user.

I know Postfix configuration, but not Sendmail. Go figure

Postfix calls it relayhost = [xxxx.domain.tld]ort# in the main.cf file.

If the above link doesn;t help, it's the smarthost macro that you want to define. Hope this helps.

Or just configure the PIAF to use the postfix box as an smtp host, if possible.

I am thinking about switching the PIAF go postfix then I can relay over to my other postfix.

the existing sendmail will relay just fine. Or switch it to Postfix. Or Qmail. Or emailrelay, the list goes on.

You could solve this problem countless ways, all of which would probably be adequate.

ok I had to rebuild sendmail to the latest version (Sendmail version 8.14.4, config V10/Berkeley) of it but now it just sends out mail as [email protected] when I only want to send it as [email protected] but how do I tell sendmail to relay it to my postfix server?
