Security Onion

Hello, so it looks like the layout of this place changed a bit. Going to take some getting use to.

Anyway, I hope this is in the right place. Not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.

I tried to install the latest version of Security Onion, 14.04.4.1 march 13, 2016 via DVD.

Once it gets past the BIOS and the Security Onion option screen, I get the following error:

1.416548 ERST: Failed to get Error Log Address Range.

I haven't had much luck with google, I found a couple problems it could including an outdated BIOS which I recently updated to no effect.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

For "ERST: Failed to get Error Log Address Range" this type of event message, you can do one of following items to get workaround.
1. Disable ACPI with command "acpi=off" in boot grub
2. Disable WHEA option from enable to disable in BIOS setup menu
The reason is WHEA requesting ACPI 4.0 table support. Recently, X8 DP series do not support ACPI 4.0 feature (only ACPI 3.0). This is why you will see this warming message shown up during OS boot.
