Second Tahiti LE! (HUGE VRM temp increase)

Ordered a second for some x-fire action. Turns out I don't need the performance, but I had fun for a few hours!

Here's the weird thing though, second card had no VRM heatsink at all (Powercolor MYST+)

The first card did.

new card: was benching @ 1175/1575, VRM's were hitting 100c!!!! Holy crap, the old card never hit 75c.

Checked the old 7870 MYST+, and sure enough there is a VRM cooler installed. Anybody else have this happen? Luckily I had some spare small heatsinks from a build from over a decade ago (Literally) so I got those attached and temps dropped over 30c.

I'll probably sell the first card, as its NOT missing the VRM heatsink. Sigh.

What are you using to measure VRM temps? GPUZ will but I have to start it after running an application or disable ULPS (with two cards installed).

Using Gpu-z for temps we are talking single card now already removed the old card. Am I the first person to get a myst with no vrm heatsink ??
