Has anyone tried this or found any reviews? I am considering purchasing it for my fairly low power system (I'm pretty sure I should be fine with it--used Kill-a-Watt to test my current set-up). On that note, should I be okay making a second PCIe connector by joining 2 molex connectors? My GTX 670 requires 2 6-pin connectors. 30 Amps across the 12V line is sufficient, I believe (for my system anyway).

Just can't make up my mind between that and the new Silverstone SFX 80+ Gold 450 Watt PSU, which is not quite in stock yet at most places.

There's also Rosewill Fortress 450 Watt 80+ Platinum for just $80 on NewEgg, and it seems excellent, except it probably won't fit into my small case =/ Unless I can bend the cables as they come out of the power supply in a 0.5" arc =/

Ummm, note that the KAW isn't entirely accurate:
Here's Paul Johnson's post, PSU reviewer of HardOCP.com, about the inaccuracy of the Kill-A-Watt:

Another Paul Johnson's post:

In addition, three other PSU experts backs up Paul Johnson's statement:

JonnyGuru of JonnyGuru.com and the former senior PSU engineer over at BFG acknowledge the inaccuracies of a KAW (Post #7 in regards to Post #2):

Anyway, getting back to the that Seasonic PSU: At $70 shipped from Newegg, it's a bit waay too pricey IMO for a few extra % in efficiency.

Interesting reading - thanks for the thread list.

I'll go with a safer 450-Watt range then and keep reading.

I've tested 3 different computers with my K-a-W, and they have a similar range of components in terms of power draw, and none were over 350 Watts at max draw (that's 3 different power supplies), so I hope my K-a-W isn't too bad (although, of course, it could be precise but inaccurate, with a consistent error offset).

P.S.: It's a good price for a Seasonic 80+ gold (especially if it didn't have that $10 shipping)-- look at other prices in that ballpark--they are closer to $100 or over. Also needs to be on the smaller side to fit my PSU enclosure, and have cables that are not terribly long.

What exactly are you powering? That way we can give you a better estimate of the amount of power you need.

I will be powering an i5 3570k, ASUS GTX 670 TOP, 8 gigs of low watt RAM, a few fans, an SSD, and a hard drive - that's about it. I heeded the advice here and went for the new Silverstone SFX 80+ Gold modular PSU -- was just trying to be frugal, seeing as my Kill-a-Watt numbers were well below 360 Watts the PSU listed in my OP (plus it's by SeaSonic and also 80+ gold).

If you're not overclocking, then the Seasonic will probably have been fine, although you would be getting close to it's max capacity. Better you went with the Silverstone.

has anyone looked at the ssr-45rm?
im considering this one to replace the silverstone in my sg08.

Go for the 450W Rosewill Capstone. It has gotten really good reviews, and is 80+ Gold. I have 2 of them in my server systems and they run really well. Much better deal.

Note that the 360W is output not input. So for a given 90% efficiency a 360W psu could draw 360W / .9 = 400W

Another vote for the capstone here. Also if you are interested in silence the SeaSonic X460 or the Kingwin Stryker 500w fanless are great choices.

Oh wow this is a very sexy Power Supply. This is what I would have bought it if existed when I bought my PSU.
