In for 1. This will be my 2nd unit of the same model. Seasonic, platinum efficiency, even with scant load, and 7yr warranty for only $80 AR is awesome. Rereading Johnny's review was the clincher!
 
I am sure the answer is "no", but I figured I might as well ask anyway. I have a Seasonic X 650 KM3 PSU... there is no reason to "upgrade" the platinum 660W, right? Even at this great price...?
 
Great initial reviews but didn't these become prone to "coil whine" etc etc.

I bought this a long time ago and I can't remember well but I don't believe these have a reputation for having coil whine.
 
I haven't noticed any coil whining in the last 2 years. And I stress it now with a "reputed" power hog combo: FX8370E running at 4.3GHz and R290X running at 1100 / 1400 MHz. Gaming load tops out at around 380-395W. :D
 
I have this PSU. For some reason it causes a constant static noise in my headphones when I turn the amp on.

It could just be a defective unit, though.
