Search function is...dead...must give CPR

well, i know this has happened to me before, and its freaking annoying...

something happens that disables my search function within the OS (my computer, explorer) no, i dont have any spy ware, and i have done a restore point, but since i havent used the search function in a while, i'm not entirely sure when this happened...

has anyone encountered this before?
 
no sir, nothing was disabled really, least no process that i remember...any other help...anyone.?
 
So what does happen? Is the search context menu missing? Does it error out? What OS/ SP version are you running? Have you had spyware before and have had it removed? Gotta have more info.
