Got mine in today. Not that everyone's would necessarily be the same, but it's Seagate branded for OEM distribution. According to Seagate's warranty validation, the drive is covered by a Seagate warranty for 5 years (minus the two weeks Dell had it or being shipped, I guess). It's the correct part number, so hopefully you won't need to worry about this being a wrong part pricing error.
well, my shipping date just got revised from today to 8/26. still holding out hope though.
If they were gonna cancel, they would've done it. That's my theory and I'm sticking by it
How can they cancel an order after it's "confirmed" ?
they take you money, delay the money so they can use it as they wish. OPnce they have turne d aprofit using your money they refund it.
Huge Scam IMO. I try not to order form dell whenever possible. They write a contract, post up a "mistake" on purposece, get a free loan from 1000's of people.
I have a hold on mine and have not been cancelled, though I did get the delayed e-mail earlier. Logged into the site and my order still shows that it should ship on the 26th. I did put in my companies name though when it asked for the EPP info. I wonder if that helped since we're a large corp? Probably not, but who knows.I had a hold on my credit card, but since I canceled it on my own, who knows what would have happened
They call this practice floating. With enough people companies can float on a ton of money, it's very illegal, but some do it anyways.
To dells defense, they probably got so many orders it took forever to review and cancel each one.
